This is so encouraging...

I found this on google - it's a way you can measure your body fat using simple measurements from 4 or 5 different parts of your body.

It tells me that I am 28.2% body fat (within an error margin of 26.2%-30.2%) - I have 63.3 pounds of fat and 162.7 pounds of otherstuff. Ideally, women want to be between 18 and 25%, and the American average for women is 32%.

Food for thought. I'd encourage people to give it a try - you don't have to share your results with me.

It's assuring because it means I really don't have to reach my goal of 170 unless my muscles start to slim out and lose weight - but does that happen?

WHEEEEEEEEEE!

It tells me that I am 27.6% body fat. I have 59.9 lbs of fat and 162.1 lbs of lean muscle.

That's pretty cool.

This is my stuff...

Your Results
You have 27% body fat.

You have 36.2 Pounds of fat and 97.8 Pounds of lean (muscle, bone, body water).

I think I would look anorexic at 100lbs!

I don't think you're supposed to get rid of all of you fat. I think it's trying to get you to the body fat percentage that's healthy. Like you might want to get to 25% body fat.

Says I have 30% body fat. 66 Pounds of fat and 154 Pounds of lean (muscle, bone, body water).

Has anyone ever used one of those body fat scales?? I have one and it is a lot different from this. Does anyone know how accurate the scale is? Or how accurate this site is?? Don't get me wrong... I like the site assessment better. Although the first time I did it I misread hips as height so I was shocked with my first results hahahaha!!

oh good lord, thanxs Cory now i feel really peachy, it says i'm fat!!!! I want a second opnion!!!! LOL i know im fat, it says i need to loose... well myself pretty much, but then i'll only be half the woman i am now:D (what about height, it says i have 157lbs of lean muscle bone and water, but at that weight i am still chubby, i'm only 5'1")

I wonder how come they don't ask for height??? I have always known my right body weight is higher because I have large bones. My wrists are 7.5 inches and I am five feet five inches tall.

It's all about muscle!

Hi, thanks for the link.

It says i have 16% body fat.

I used to weigh 120 kgs (264 lbs) in my teens, and decided to get off my bum and do something about it hehe.

I now weigh 80 kgs (176 lbs) of which 12.8 kgs is fat.

My goal is to get to below 10 percent.

Just some random thoughts...

I dislike the idea of "losing weight" as such, and much prefer to think lean. I made the mistake of not doing weights early on. So many people I know just went to eating salads and some aerobic exercise...and I was one of them. I wasn't eating enough protein. Larger people have more muscle than people realise, and by doing weights we can retain most of this if not gain some while we shed the fat. Muscle burns 50 cals per pound so the more you have the more efficient your metabolism will be. And metabolism is the key to weight loss!

A good read is "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" by Tom Venuto, you can find it on those p2p sharing networks.

Hope my ramblings are of some assistance.

Kim.
