One Year Mark

One year ago (Well a year and a week now) I had a terrible nose bleed that would not stop. My Blood pressure was 191/137.

While at the Hospital they were worried about my Creatinine kidney levels being high end of normal.

While at the Hospital they weighed me and I was at 356 pounds. Even after they gave me a blood pressure pill my pressure went to 147-120.

This was a wake up call. I'm 36 years old male and from that date forward I've been dieting. I don't weigh myself at all. I wait for my doctors appointments. As of end of NOV I was weighing 228 pounds.

I went from 10mg of blood pressure pill a day down to 2.5mg and hopefully getting off it soon as the protein levels lower in my kidneys.

I only drink water now. I used to be able to drink a bottle of soda a day. No fast food. I'm in complete control of my eating now. I don't let it control me.

I go to the Doctor next week. I'm pretty sure my weight loss has started to slow up considerably but if it keeps coming off I don't care. I sleep good. I don't get headaches, some other small problems seemed to go away as well.

I like reading these forums as they encouragement giving to each other is great.

Impressive turnaround. Sadly, it usually takes bad things to happen to us before we get serious, however, you're a true testament how one can repair illnesses caused by obesity.

You make no mention of diabetes, I just wonder how close you really were to becoming Type II? Based on your kidney info, I'll bet you were getting dangerously close.

Congrats on answering the bell to an assured shorter life. The sky is the limit on your longevity, now.

Well done.

My biggest fear was Diabetes. The blood work didn't show any Diabetes, and I have had blood work a few months ago and the only thing my doc was concerned about was my Vit D levels which I'm taking pills for now.

I do the Elliptical 5-7 times a week. I do 45 minutes. Average 4 miles for the 45 minutes. I got it to 4.4 miles today. My goal is 5 miles over the next few months.
