One Step at a Time

Things have been pretty good these last two days. Yesterday I did some traveling to the next town over to pick up a few things but still got in time to work with the horses for a few hours. Also worked the boys again today and I think I'm starting to get in better shape/have better stamina. Reason for saying this is that even though Jack decided to be turd and act like some of the stuff we'd been doing for forever was brand new and running around like his tail was on fire, I was able to keep up with little difficulty. I also didn't sweat as much as I have in the past when I've had to run after them and it doesn't take me long to recover even when I do start to get a little winded. So that's pretty exciting to notice.

Today was extra interesting actually. While I worked Jack, we made progress and then I went and hopped on him bareback. Well, as I moved around and wiggled on him to get him used to me being on him, he decided it was the perfect time to buck. First time he's ever bucked with me on him and I've been on him several times already. Because I wasn't in a saddle, I did indeed fall off, but I was back up in literally seconds and was able to correct him on it and repeat getting on and off him a few more times which were much more successful. Also no, i didn't get hurt when he bucked. I wasn't even winded when I hit the ground. Actually, coming off him felt like nothing lol. I don't know why it didn't hurt or anything, but coming off, it felt as hard as flopping into bed. So nothings hurt or bruised, i'm 100% good.

I've also hopped on the exercise bike about 15 mins and thinking I'm going to use it a bit more this evening. And that's about all that I've been up to.

That is so good that you are really noticing the improvements in your fitness & recovery :)

Oh, that's fantastic! That things went so well - not Jack being obstreperous, of course, but how well you were able to keep up, and bounce back from exertion, and barely even pause after coming off!

What the others said! Although you might still feel the effects of that fall when you wake up. Bodies are weird that way. But if it had been bad you would've noticed already so yay for resilience!

Well, you taught me a new word today @aiminglow lol. Never heard the word "obstreperous" before so thanks for teaching me something new today! :) And it does definitely fit Jack's actions yesterday.

@LaMaria Ya, I was wondering if that'd happen. But now it's the next day and still feel nothing. So I guess I got lucky yesterday and managed to not get hurt or sore in the slightest despite Jack's antics :)

Today was pretty good. Made some good progress with the horses. As you can see in the pics, I got on Jack again, just getting him used to me being on him. And then I rode Sam around and I even cantered on him which is the first time we've ever cantered so it was a big thing. He did really good though! But now I can feel my legs are getting a bit sore since riding a canter uses different muscles than the walk or trot does lol. Tomorrow I get be really sore xP

I also figured out how to get the exercise bike to change how difficult it is to pedal and it actually has some preset modes where after a few seconds or minutes, it just automatically changes to become more difficult or easier so I'm definitely going to put that to good use. I have forgotten to actually do the other exercises I was planning on but I'm going to start up on those again on Monday I think and do them every other day

And of course, to finish off the update, some pics of me with the horses.

Just a mini update I thought I'd post.

I still haven't seen a change in the scale, so this morning I decided to take measurements again and see how they are compared to the last time I did this about a week or two ago.

Measurements:
(lost or gained in brackets)

Neck: 14.2 (-0.8)
Arms: 13.8 (+1.4)
Bust: 43 (-1.0)
Waist: 46 (-0.5)
Hips: 45 (-1.0)
Thighs: 25.5 (-0.6)

So despite not seeing much on the scales, I'm apparently still getting slimmer. Perhaps part of the plateau is due to the fact I'm building some muscle and it's kind of replacing some of the fat that I'm losing. After all, I have noticed my stamina getting better, I can run around after my horses longer before my legs start getting tired, and my arms are getting stronger thanks to Jacks freaks out and pulling me around to a certain degree lol.
I'm thinking of maybe starting to go a little more keto again though to help get my body back on track with losing weight since that seems to help in the past. Or maybe I'll look into some other things as well for ways to eat and exercise to help lose weight while building muscle cause regardless if I have more muscle or not, I should not weigh over 200 lbs.

Do you guys have any tips as a way to get my body back into losing weight? You guys tend to know more than I do so I'm open to hearing any suggestions you have :)

Things I managed to accomplish today:

15 jumping jacks
20 crunches
10 push ups
20 russian twists
5 mins of stretching
20 mins on the exercise bike
10 donkey kicks (per leg)
12 leg lifts (per leg)
30 sec plank (was easier than the last time I did this actually)
45 mins roughly of on ground work with horses
15 mins riding Sam

So I'd say today was pretty good.

I think that along with the measurements all sounds like great signs that things are moving in the right direction. Weight is often not the best indicator of what's happening--what with water retention and stuff so I wouldn't worry about it.
You sound like you're getting a lot of exercise in and you sound happy and energetic so that's great.

I don't have any tips around that--i have seen my weight not change for a few weeks at a time despite calorie reduction and exercise but then eventually it starts moving again, so now i just figure that's my pattern and don't worry about it and I just stick to my plan.

As long as you sleep enough, drink plenty of water, move your body regularly, and eat measuredly you will lose weight. But as Liza said it often isn´t linear, even when you´re doing everything right.

That sounds likely to me, as a partial explanation. I get that you want the scales to show you something under 200 lbs, but as the wiser heads above me have said, they will, in their own good time. And your increasing stamina and energy are telling their own good story - there's a good reason for there to be a non-scales victories thread in this place!
(Also, check out on another scale - your home scales mightn't be telling the truth?)

Thanks for the comments everyone. Good to know this is normal and weight loss will pick up again. And part of the reason for the measurements was so that when I ran into a moment like this, I could see that I was still making progress.

Anyway, so yesterday I didn't do anything since I traveled to the next town over again for several reasons. I ended up being there longer than I expected and so had to order some food so I did have an unhealthy meal there from KFC.
Today I've been tired so haven't done much either. Used the exercise bike for a bit but I'm pretty low on energy so I think that's probably all I'm gunna do besides some meal prep for next week and do some basic cleanup.

Also, I did a little experiment this last week. I was having trouble sleeping for a while and while I know my body is out of whack and I need to go chiro, my left arm was just hurting and falling asleep a lot easier than it used to when in bed. Only thing I could think of that'd changed was the fact I was taking these pills. So for a few days, I didn't take them. And sure enough, I can suddenly sleep again and my arm is no longer falling asleep and hurting nearly as much when in bed. Although the other affects of not taking them is my energy level has gone way down again and I'm starting to not want to do things anymore and just lay around in bed all day.

So now I'm thinking I'm going to change it a bit. Before, I took the pill each morning. Now, I'm going to try and take it in the evening before bed. That way it's not going to affect me sleeping but the effects should definitely kick in by the time I'm waking up and help give me the boost for the day I need. Last night was the first time I took the pill at night. Today I'm still wanting to do nothing but sleep so i think today and tomorrow I'm just going to take things slow and by about monday or tuesday, the pills should definitely be starting to affect me. And I should know within a week or two if this is the best way to do it. Hopefully this is what'll work best for me.

Looking good! These aren't drugs to experiment with on your own though. Unless your doctor said to take them when it's convenient there's usually a reason why you're told to take them at a certain time. Could you call your doctor's office and ask if your changes make sense from their perspective?

I was actually told to take them either in the morning, or in the evening, whenever works best. I was given the go ahead to try the different times to see what works best. Just not two in a day. So that's one reason why I went like, half a week without taking anything to see how I would do as well as prepare my body to have the pills at a different time. So I didn't do anything considered dangerous and was given the go ahead by the doctor :)

Glad to hear you're keeping in touch with the doctors about the meds.

I find travelling exhausting. Hope you wake up with renewed energy tomorrow...

Wow - those sound like pretty powerful pills, the amount of difference they make. I hope that with careful adjusting you and the doctor can get the timing, dosage etc exactly right for you.

So I've still been a little tired but energy levels are starting to get better again. Spent yesterday cleaning up and doing meal prepping. Pretty happy with the end result and it all looks so tasty. I've also got some oranges, apples, and carrots for snacks.

Today I just spent most of the day at the stables, just hanging out with the horses. I did go a short jog during that but pretty much just kept it all pretty chill. Had fun watching the horses and interacting with them but not doing anything major. Tomorrow I'll starting doing a bit of a workout routine and keep that going this week.

Oh, and weight today was 208. So it's finally about .5 lbs down. So I guess some progress is being made again.
