So this is my new diary!!! For those of you that don't know... I am a 19 year old female student who lives in London UK - although I don't plan to live here long. Pretty much since I was 10 I have been overweight, overfed with unhealthy school lunches; something I guess I could thank Jamie Oliver for getting rid of a few years ago. I never, ever, put on weight when I am at home, yet when I go on holiday relatives, and foreign cuisine entice me and I usually put on around half a stone. Although this has only happened 2 or 3 times. I have started to realise that I am killing my body, and if I don't do this now then I will regret it for the rest of my life.

Today was a .....? day.... It started off well, I had cornflakes with raspberries on top. I didn't have any morning snack. For lunch, I had some home made pizza bread (just two slices of bread with cheese, spring onions, tomatoes, and chicken bits on and cooked in the oven for 5 mins). I also had... two mini chocolate cupcakes :S Couldn't resist!! In the afternoon, I went to the gym. I did 40 MINS(!) on the treadmill, 30 mins on the elliptical and 30 sit ups. On my way home, I was invited to my niece's birthday party at.... McDonald's.... I know... Although I did get the least calorie option of 6 chicken mcnuggets (280 cals) and medium fries (330). That meant I'd just eaten what I'd burned off (around 600 cals that I burned at gym) and then I had a mcflurry.... another 300 cals... But then I went cycling for around 45 mins ... so I guess it was OK. ? I'm just gonna add it all up:
-Cornflakes with raspberries (150)
-Pizza bread (500)
- 2 cupcakes (150)
-McDonald's main course the same amount I burned (0)
-McFlurry (330)

Total - 1200 roughly?? I feel like sometimes I underestimate the amount of calories I am counting. Even if I got a few more calories than 1200 that would be fine. :) I'm not sure if I lost weight as I know I have gained muscle mass. But my workout shirt and all my other clothes are starting to feel looser!!! Next summer, I want to wear short shorts!!!
 
Today was bad,,, BAD!!! I woke up in a good mood as this morning I weighed myself and I was 175.2, down 2.4lbs from what I was on Monday! I had my normal cornflakes with raspberries on top and set off to work. It was party day today. One of the women there was leaving so we had this huge party - with not a fruit or vegetable in sight!! I don't want to say it... but here goes (I did have a lot less than everyone else,, there were over 100 dishes!!!)
1 jammy dodger
1 mini oreo
3 minstrels (kinda like smarties)
1/2 sausage roll
like... 100g crisps??

I DID try to limit myself, and you should've seen what my skinny friend was eating (she eats more than me yet still remains at 100lbs!! :( )
So I didn't have an afternoon snack, and I decided to go to the gym where I succeeded in burning around 700 cals.!! Hopefully that got rid of most of my dreadful lunch! I'm also gonna go do my first 30 day shred program!! Apparently its really hard and you end up dying?!?!?! Ohh... and for supper I was quite healthy and had a pork chop (baked in oven, fat cut off), carrots, new potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower!!.

I'll update tomorrow how the 30 day shred went... a bit nervous now :S
 
it hurts so much!!! my arms and legs ached for agesss!!! I'm properly going to start it on Monday, it was just a trial run but mannn did it hurt!
 
I'm officially starting p90x on Tuesday (not Monday, cause Monday's my off day). It's good that you're starting something! You should whip out the measuring tape now at the start, and then compare that to your ending measurements. I wanna know just how effective that program is ;)
 
Today was G.O.O.D!!!! (or at least I think so :p)

Breakfast - Cornflakes (170)
Morning Snack - This "macaroon" thing that my dad got me, it's not really a macaroon though... I'll attach a picture.... (100?!?).. oh and some homemade popcorn!! I didn't put a topping on apart from some butter... around... (150?!)
Lunch - Sliced chicken sandwich (350) and a magnum white :) (260)
Afternoon Snack - Diet Pepsi (3)
Supper - Tuna steak (200), potato salad (100) and ketchup (30) and home made salsa (15)

I did 1/2 hour on the elliptical... so that magnum white practically didn't count!!! (I burned 270 calories...wooohhh!!!).

Total.... 1118!!! And that's the possible lowest... because sometimes I feel like I'm underestimating my calorie counts. I'm off to do my 30 day shred...

Away from all the boring calorie counting crap... I bought THE dress!! It is soo nice with like this bow on the back... so a.ma.zing! Except... it's 2 sizes too small (a size 12 UK, US 10!). Right now I'm just about a size 16 UK (14 US). It is going to be my motivation. When I showed it to my parents, and told them that I intended to fit into it, they were like "you can't change your bone structure"..... !!!!! That's the thing, no one actually thinks that I'm overweight. If anyone ever picks on me about it, my friends STAND UP FOR ME?!!!! I know,, insane!! It's because my parents are both really heavily built because they were ice hockey players "back in the day" so everyone assumes I'm that heavily built :) everyone just assumes I have a lot of muscle as I used to ski nationally and play cricket regionally! I've always been sporty,, yet overweight :(.

I really want to get to know about myself beneath all the flab. I've never seen myself as a normal weight adult... My aim for the summer holiday is to MAINTAIN!! no gain...! Cruise food can be a killer, but there is also a gym on the cruise.. so y'know where I'll be going whilst the rest of my family goes out scubadiving :p

Today was one of those days where you are hungry ALL the time. I get like this just before my TOM. :( Here goes...

Breakfast - Cornflakes (170) and green apple (35)
Morning Snack - 3 mini meringues (60) and air popped popcorn from home (30)
Lunch - Baked potato slices (160) , beef rib steak (400) and juice popsicle (75)
Afternoon Snack - 2 mini meringues (40)
Supper - 3 slices domino's pizza (630) ... my mum and dad are actually bringing food to my house as they've noticed how much I've been going to the gym and think I've become anorexic!!! I told them.. no.. I'm becoming healthy there's nothing wrong with getting fit, right?!! I still managed to turn down the other 5 slices they offered me so kinda proud of myself.

In exercise land, I did my 30 day shred. My whole body still aches from yesterday but I'm pushing through for those results. I also went out and played cricket for 3 hours.. although I was only really active for probably around 1/2 hour. In cricket you tend to stand around a lot :) Does doing my younger brother's paper route count as exercise?? I had to ride around on my bike up this MASSIVE hill and jump off to push newspapers through impossibly small letter boxes!

In total today, I ate 1600 calories, yet I probably burned around 400 (200 from 30ds and 200 from cricket and paper route)... so equalling out around 1200?!! But I've eaten baaddd calories not good ones. I feel kinda ill as well :O
 
It was an okay day?!

Breakfast - Cornflakes (170) and toast (100)
Morning Snack - Home made popcorn (30)
Lunch - 1 slice of leftover pizza (250), tuna salad (200?) and a macaroon (100)
Afternoon Snack - None
Supper - Lamb fillet (240), potato salad (165)
Evening Snack - Kettle chips sweet chilli (210)

I still felt ill today from yesterday :( I managed to get to the gym today and I did 1/2 hour on the elliptical burning 330 cals. (!) I didn't get tired even after 1/2 hour and I got a grand distance of 4.16 km!! I could hardly walk from the 30 day shred effects my lower legs were burningg and they are still killing me but I'm going to push on to see if the program does actually work!! Overall then... 1465 calories eaten - 330 calories burned = 1135!!! I don't think I'll do well on my weigh in tomorrow however. It'll be my last one for over a month.

I leave on holiday on the 1st and don't come back until the 28th!! But as I'm staying at hotels, cruises and family's houses I've come up with a plan. Every morning I'll wake up early and go to the gym (no one else will hopefully be there) and then late at night I plan to go swimming. When I get to my family I am going to walk the dog!!!

Lunch - Hummus and pitta (350) and Ben and Jerry's Baked Alaska (350) :)
Afternoon Snack - None
Supper - Fish (220) and potatoes (250) and some salad (80)

Total of .. 1425 cals. I'm about to go out for a walk, and then come back to do day 4 of the 30 day shred.. uggghhh it still hurts when I walk!!! I weighed myself today, and I came in at 175.2 so I've maintained since last week! I can't believe it.. I ate so much crap on the weekend and my TOM means I put on weight - so I'm probably somewhere beneath 175.2!!! On another bright note, in the past month, I've lost 1" off my bust, 1" off my waist and 2" off my hips!!

I went to the gym :) I burned 400 calories on both the elliptical and the treadmill. Total then of 1375 calories eaten - 400 calories burned = 975 calories.. woops.. I didn't want to go beneath 1200!! Maybe I'll go eat a banana or something :D
 
hasta la vista!! see you guys on the 29th :D MAINTAIN.. NO GAIN!! Keep up all the good work because I KNOW you can do it!
 
yayyyy!!! stepped on the scale today and weighed in at 174 exactly! I did not put on the 13lbs I gained last summer.. so pleased with myself, and nice to see you all back here :)
 
Haven't written in my diary in ages :). I've just been taking a kind-of-break from all the dieting and exercise and just clean out my body from all the junk I ate on holiday. I've been really ill and on medication for that and somehow I've lost 4lbs. My gym membership expired, so I went back and got a new one... and I think that's about it. I'm just really tired from starting back school and work again *sigh*
