Omega's journey

LOL! at the ruthless streak behind the soft fluffy facade - perhaps your team should be called the Miss Marples, Margaret! Opponents beware!!

I thoroughly agree with your thoughts about the delay in your ultrasound. I do hope your wait is nearly done.

I agree with Felici!
I love the "fluffy facade" comment!!!
Your right. More than anything else I LOVE to win. And that is what pushes me more than anything I think.
Sorry to hear that you are getting the run around at the doctor's office. At least that is one thing in the States. Our ins. may be hugely overpriced but when a procedure is needed it gets done........PRONTO!
I'll be praying for you to get in speedily.

Thanks for visiting

Felici

That would have been a funny and apt name.

Kimberly came up with the name "Omega-3" which we have already agreed on. We all thought that it was funny. There are 3 of us in the team and Kimberly said in Dawn's diary that she considers herself to be both fatty and acidic at times. Both these terms have often rightly been used to describe me too!

Dawn

I think that all 3 of us LOVE to win.

I actually sign up for tons of challenges. I not only have our one starting up - but am in the Summer Solstice one and the Kudos one.

I am sure that there is nothing to worry about since it causes me no pain and my hunch is that it is maybe a hernia based on something I saw on a TV program last week - which I know is a simple procedure to fix - but it would be nice to be told what it is by a doctor instead of her just saying "I dont know". I wouldnt be aware of it at all if I hadnt lost as much weight. Frankly - I dont think that anything happens here pronto unless you are viewed as an emergency.

Take care

LOL @ this and fluffy facade. :D

I think what motivates me in these challenges is that I'm the one running them, so it would look really bad if I got eliminated quickly. :D Also, I think the fear of being "eliminated" seems to make my survival instincts kick in. :smilielol5:

Things may get done here pronto, but if you can't afford it, it isn't much use to you. Things do get missed here, too. My gran nearly died of a massive heart attack a few years back b/c no one ever detected a blockage in her arteries that she had gone to the ER at least once a year over for the 2-3yrs prior to her heart attack. No healthcare system is perfect, but I still think the Aussie system is the best of any that I have seen so far. Margaret, if you're worried about your H, move to the U.S. Just make sure he gets a job that has great benefits. The cost of housing is so cheap in my area, that you could save save a lot of money there. See, I'm just trying to get you to move closer to me. :D

hey Margaret! i can't wait to see you reach your 'half yourself' goal!!!

i join all the challenges possible as well nowadays just to keep me going lol! and if i get chucked out of some i have some left init! lol!

have a good day

x

Trevor

Hi Margaret! I noticed the pics of you as a teen (whoo whoo! What a bird!) but can you tell me what diary page your most recent pics are on? I have read other folks' comments on them, but have not found the actual pics yet, and really want to see what you are looking like these days!

Actually I had noticed that - and I didn't seriously mean you should change from that spectacularly good name!! ... but I just had to mention Miss Marple after your comment!! :D I'm sure you will be a team to be reckoned with!!

Well I might go to a pharmacy today and search about, cheers Margaret.

Just saw the weight loss pictures, oh my God! You look so much younger, I can't believe the transformation. You should be extremely proud of your achievements. Well done! :D

OMG!!!!You are doing freaking awesome!!157 I so can't wait to see 150's
I am noticing a slower drop now BUT I will hang in there, you are so inspiring!
What is your main source of exersicing you do?

Hey Margaret!

I'm still at uni, but went to the pharmacy right near the university and bought some bio-oil. It states on the packaging it's good for stretch marks (which I currently have) as well as your face to tighten it up. You also use bio-oil, yep?

:)

I'm with Camy, Marg. I'm tremendously impressed with how knowleged you are about your own body. It really does put the rest of to shame...

I hope you've had a good Tuesday and are in for an even better Wednsday!

Thanks for visiting. Wow there have been loads of you popping in! I hope that you all have a great Wednesday / TLD.

Kimberly

I have always tended towards being VERY competitive. It is just my nature.

The biggest problem is that hubby does not percieve that there is a problem - which concerns me. To him the problem is limited to the fact that I worry (in his eyes needlessly) about him. It will be hard enough to get him to move as far as Newcastle (which he promised to do before we were married!) - never mind abroad. When he went to Greece it was only for half a year at a time as a holiday.

The best way of getting him to take his size seriously is by ignoring the health aspects in my mentioning things to him. I know that there have been jobs that he has fancied that he was well qualified for that he did not get on interview. I have started telling him that I think that he would stand a better chance at interview if he weighed less. He accepts that (despite it being wrong) some people do judge a person as being lazy or disorganised if they are larger than a certain size.

I see you sending messages to Shannon. He is a 19 year old Australian lad - so your hubby may influence him nicely. There are a great bunch of youngsters doing so well on this forum. I know that you know Rae and Trevor. Becky is a 19 year old English girl.

Angel

I am a firm believer in joining challenges. The only challenge that I havent joined in ages is the Lenten challenge. I considered all my sins carefully and decided that I had already given up all the ones that I was willing to give up.

Sarah

I have stopped feeling like I have much right to complain about English weather. So many people on this forum seem to have to contend with much worse winters than we have here. I dont know how they cope with months on end of snow.

You can take it from me - it is well over half a stone away - but when I eventually get to ten and a half stone - I think that everyone will be aware of that fact.

Becky

We all suffer from TOM. None of us like to see a gain happen - but take it as just one of the joys of being a woman. Hopefully we will both see a loss next week. The water weight will drop eventually - because it isnt fat.

Trevor

Nice to see you here.

Janice

The latest photo is on page 94 of the diary. In all honesty - I cannot see much difference between it and the October photo that I showed some time back.

Felici

The name that you came up with was highly suitable because we are all a bit of a tougher proposition than people would guess. I think that we will give the others a definite run for their money. I anticipate us dropping very few points - but weight loss is something that can never be a certainty. You can only work hard and it happens when it happens.

Shannon

Thanks for your kind comment about my photos. There is still some way to go but I am certainly now a more normal size. Bio-oil is quite expensive - but I do massage it into my abdomen. I do have quite a lot of stretch marks there and would like to help my skin cope with the shrinking in the best way that I can.

As you have seen from my photos and as my ticker implies - my skin is trying to do a much tougher shrinking job than yours will. For the record - I am doing all that I can to be good to my skin - it is after all trying to do it at 48 (and they say that these things are harder as you get older). I know that you drink plenty of water like I do. The other thing is that I take starflower oil, omega-3 and a multivitamin that contains zinc. If you are trying to be good to your skin it may be worth you reviewing your vitamins.

I like your new avatar.

Tammy

Thanks. We are all doing brilliantly on this forum. I still cannot get over how much weight you lost on that biggest loser challenge. No wonder you won the parallel contest.

As far as exercise goes - my main exercise has to be my walking - because I walk over 10 miles a day. In February I walked 329 miles. I also do keep fit and yoga classes. That means that I do aerobics (which I love) twice a week. Although I do some ST - it is mainly all cardio. I find that I have to do a lot of exercise to get any weightloss.

Rae

Thanks. Patterns just sometimes jump out of data - and when you see it time and time again you think - I bet that is going to happen again next time.

Take care

Yeah I used the bio-oil (a tad expensive, indeed) on my body before as well and it smells quite nice, perhaps feminine like? Haha. I also rubbed it on my chin, neck as well, doing the massage motion you described previously (starting from the neck and massaging up). Whenever I massage the chin I've been doing it reverse, starting from the chin and massaging it into the chicken. D'oh.

Yeah I might consider those vitamins for my skin.

Do you think bio-oil is sufficient enough for reducing/ridding of the double chin? :)

Hi Shannon

Bio-oil is certainly sufficient for the task of dealing with your chin. The only thing is since it is quite expensive - you may want to keep it for the stretchmark area and use something a lot cheaper for your chin - that way the bio-oil lasts longer. The big thing for your chin is the action of the massage.

Take care
