ok...

workin on crunches, cardio, and eating better.

The thing is, i'm havin trouble controlling eating better... i tend to have more than fist-sized meals. but lately ive been trying to have 1 or 2 waffles instead of 3 or 4, or just healthier like grapefruit or whatever. So any motivation for eating better or less, and also, what should i drink?
I'm not huge into water, and id rather that not be all i drink... i do like seltzer water when we have it, iced tea, juice, gatorade, etc... and i love propel water

so what should i do?

thanks

I must have been the most unhealthy eater about 2 years ago...chips, crackers, ice cream comprised my diet. Now I'm eating better...here's what I do.

Eat what I feel I need. I try to eat until I'm satisfied, but I break up my meals, which does the trick. I usually have 500 calorie meals, which, if you plan them right, can be very filling. Example: whole wheat bagel w/natural peanut butter, a few kiwis and a cup of non fat milk. Just eat what your body tells you to, it knows what it's doing. : ) You need to ease yourself into eating smaller meals more often, or else you'll get cravings pretty soon and eat everything in sight.

I drink non fat milk, orange juice (no added sugars) and water. That's it, and I think that's a pretty good system. Find stuff you like, but stay away from sugared juices, pop (ABSOLUTELY NO POP EVER...well, ok, maybe once every few months), and anything else that doesn't look...healthy.

You really need to motivate yourself to eat healthy, but once you do it for a few months, it will be habit and you'll feel odd doing otherwise.

ok

really tired of not having defined abs...

ive been doing extra cardio (on top of daily bball practices), and have been eating less, and better foods (4 or 5 500 calorie meals/day) as well as doing crunches, but i just havent been able to get definition yet... i feel like i may be losing some stomach fat, but i just want to know how long its goin to take for me to see more visible results

thanks

you already have welll defined abs you just cant see them because there hidden under that little bit of belly fat just keep working at it and you will start to see your real abs again

The sooner you have a consistently clean diet, the sooner you'll see results in your abs. 6-packs are made in the kitchen, not the gym.

im doing good on my quest for better abs, but i need to burn off that last bit of stomach fat... otherwise im starting to really see some definition especially when i flex. I'm getting better at turning down junk food, and eating smaller portions more often. I'm thinking about getting a jump rope because i heard its good cardio, and also helps your leg strength (im a basketball player so that could help). Is this just hyped up, or is jumproping really taht good? Also, is morning before breakfast really the best time to workout?

thanks,
Anton

yes, jumping rope is really that good.

the best time to workout is the time you can commit to day in and day out on a consistent basis. some say that working out first thing in the morning on an empty stomach burns more fat, which is true. but whats more important is the total calories consumed vs burned over the course of the entire day.

if you can workout first thing in the morning, go for it. but if you cant, all is not lost. ;)
