but has anyone noticed a large increase in their tolerance for alcohol after working out. I don't mean immediatly after a work out, but after a few weeks or months of working out. Is this why all them in shape frat guys can drink so much?
So yeah, Just curious. I've actually lost weight since I've started working out (starting to gain some back - but I like to tell myself it's muscle )
Coach Dan's story leads me to my point. I have noticed the opposite effect. I can't drink unless it's on the weekend (cheat day) or I feel extremely guilty. Alcohol lowers T-levels which is not good for training. Now that I'm getting older it takes me longer to recooperate from a weekend of drinking. I feel like drinking steals my ambition for at least a day.

Hmm, well it might just because I got a year older, but it indeed seems that I can handle the effects of alcohol better now than before I started working out... the most amazing thing is that, for the past year, I have never had a hangover, not a single time... and I sure have spent some nights drinking excessively and mixing different things ! I also never had to throw up the last year from drinking too much (just realised that), and well, I simply don't get drunk as fast... I think that's mostly because my lifestyle is a lot healthier, and well, it's generally known that 'bigger guys' can take a bit more alcohol than thin guys... Also, I make sure to always drink a lot of water/soda after a night of heavy drinking to counter the de-hydration... that still is the best medicine against hang-overs
