Hello,

If you don't know the equation of obesity let me explain it to you.
When you eat food your blood ph become acidic and if you don't eliminate this acid by intaking alkaline food or alkaline water, your body starts to stock this acid into your fat cells. Then when you go to the gym and try to lose this extra wight your body says NO NO! I need that fat in order to stock acid in it. I need it to survive!!! So that why it is important to eat alkaline food and more important is to drink alkaline water!

Hello,

Waw I love this forum!

I am only sharing what I read!

Also I have my brother and my mother who lost a lot of weight only because they started to eat less acid and more alkaline.

The body stores acid in your fat to keep it from harms way. Your body then holds onto the fat for protection. Then start the weight loss struggle.

Sooooo, I should start eating alkaline batteries? My girlfriend's got a BUNCH of those. She uses them to power her dil...bert...night...light?

:leaving:

To be honest, I think it was less about acid content and more about calorie content..actually I am very sure of it.

you are proposing the alkaline diet which is a fad diet. There is no medical research stating that weight loss is connected to the ph value of your diet.\

If you dig into this diet..what it is pretty much a vegetarian diet..which tends to have lower calories thus you lose weight. I feel sometimes people overthink things trying to find a magic answer instead of the one before their eyes.

EXAMPLE:

Select fruits from this list when planning your daily meal intake. Fruits that increase alkaline levels while being metabolized are:
*Dried figs and apricots
*Oranges
*Apples
*Bananas
*Blackberries
*Pineapple
*Raisins
*Cantaloupe
*Watermelon
*Dates

Choose alkaline-producing vegetables for your meal plans, including:
*Beet greens
*Cabbage
*Dandelion greens
*Baked potatoes
*Carrots
*Cauliflower
*Broccoli
*Celery
*Eggplant
*Swiss Chard
*Mushrooms
*Squash
*Turnips

the following foods in small amounts:
*Meat
*Cheese
*Nuts
*Cranberries
*Plums
*Brussels sprouts
*Asparagus
---------------------------------
Notice anything? The foods you should eat on this plan are overall low calorie veggies. What do you eat in smaller amounts? Meat cheese and nuts..things with higher calories.

AKA calories in vs calories out.

Well what a relief! I already eat a high alkaline diet then. I was sooo worried about that, it's been keeping me up at night!

And brussel sprouts should only ever be eaten is small quantities...it's a matter of national security!

:D

I'll believe this when I see some reputable peer reviewed scientific literature on it, and/ or when it's recommended by well recognised national health/ nutritional bodies. At the moment, it sounds like a duck.
