Nutritionist?

Is going to a nutritionist worth it?

Now, I've read stickies and I know the whole counting calories, watching what you eat, etcetc. However, I feel like I'm not understanding, on a whole, what I do need. If that makes sense. I seem to always change my diet (way I eat) from one month to the next and I suppose I'm seeking something a little more sure, a little more informative towards me.

So would speaking with a nutritionist just be a waste of time or do they help structure things a little better, when I feel like I don't quite understand?

I'd go to a dietitian if you really were going to see someone.

I'm not sure what it is you're looking for though. Maybe you're making it more complex than it needs to be? Why do you feel like you're missing something?

Ah! Dietitian..maybe that's what I meant?

I do make it more complex then it has to be, I was thinking maybe someone I can talk to in person, help me outline things and show me that "hey look, this is easy, it's simple..this is what you do" yanno? Kinda break it down for me.

I feel like I'm missing something because I know the general ideas of things, I know that "this is bad, this is good" but I get super overwhelmed with everything and end up doing something way wrong.

It might be a combo of me making it too complex and me needing someone to walk me through it step by step.

Personally, and I mean no offense by this, but I think you're way over thinking this.

1. Make sure calories are in check.

2. Make sure foods comprising said calories are in check.

2a. This means adequate amounts of the right macros (protein, fats and carbs)

2b. This also means the foods you select should be as natural and nutritious as possible.

3. Adjust your intake according to progress or lack thereof.

Making it anything beyond that is doing yourself more harm than good. Unless you have a particular issue such as an eating disorder or some sort of metabolic disease, I don't see the point in seeing someone.

That said, everyone is different and if you really think it would help, have at it!
