I am also 5'2 and 36 inch hips. I dislike how my hips are disapportionate to the rest of my body. I have tried just about every single exercise dedicated to this "special area".
I agree with the previous posts. Those exercises are really good with firming the area. After doing those exercise I am still at 36 inches (still not giving up) but your butt will look and feel firmer. The area around my hip bone (which I don't know the correct term) has gotten smaller.
