Nothing To Loose - That is the goal

Elisabeth, thanks for your support!
I went to dunkin donuts website and looked at their nutrition info. One donut has 5 grams of trans fats and 2 grams of saturated fat! I can't believe it! Why do they have to put all the crappy stuff into their products? This makes me mad. First of all, there's no reason for a donut to have 9 g of fat - its a pastry for god's sake, and secondly, why the hell use the worst type of fat around? Rrrr, it just makes me mad how stupid manufacturers put so much crap into our foods. Yes, donut is junk food but they could have made it less junkier, that's for sure. I am fine though, totally ok with my decision. :)

Sometimes I just need to vent on the manufacturers of food. Ever since I started being more concious of what to eat, I've been having trouble finding right cereals and other foods that do not contain too much junk. I could never understand why they put so much sugar in cereals. Its breakfast, not a desert. And cereal and health bars? out of all the choices, most of them have like 20-30 grams of sugar. Why? It honestly does not taste any better. We had a cake at work few weeks ago (actually, two), and one of them was regular bought cake and the other home made. The home made one had half the sugar, and tasted much better, because you could actually enjoy how it melts in your mouth and gives you much more flavor...
Anyway, I just think if manufacturers added only half the sugar they normally would use (and not substitute the other half with artificial sweeteners) we would all be better off!
<rant over>

Ok, I think I'm done ranting for the day. Sorry. :)

I do enjoy it when you stop liking bad stuff, and cannot eat it in large quantities. :)

this is the key here!! i know- donuts are a no-no! but you learned that ;) lol.

whats great is that you know now what your body likes and doesn't and you are actually making 'lifestyle changes' which will help keep it off once you hit your goal!

Yep, I'm all about "lifestyle change" now even though I don't like this term, because it implies giving up foods one currently enjoys. But it became really an expression for eating moderate portions of good food and enjoying the "bad" stuff in smaller doses. And I have to say, the weight loss was fairly painless. It was hard in January, when I was eating less, and was doing weight loss challenges. It was great for inpiration, but too hard to continue. Now I'm eating about 1200-1400 calories per day, and that includes nice home-made meals. I'm not that worried about going over, and even enjoy deserts (in smaller doses) quite often! The best part is that I don't feel like I'm restricting myself that much, but still loosing weight (yes, slowly, but as long at it is going down, I don't care!)

Sure, Skyler, I'm sprinkling it right now... Seriously, though... I understand you trying to look good for the wedding, but I think you need to concentrate on the fact that you WILL REACH your goal sooner or later, and you will look exactly as you want. May take a little longer, but I think as long as you get there, that's all that counts!

All, I was thinking earlier - I am so confident now, only 3 month into this weight loss thing, I am hoping that I will still have that confidence in another 3 month or 6 month. I really hope so. :) From this point on, my plan is not to cut calories further down (stay at 1200), but to increase my exercise and fitness level. I hope that works.

Yesterday we ordered sushi (yumm), so was a bit high on calories - 1350. The bad part is that all that salt made me retain water, even though I drank like 3 big glasses of water after dinner. So this morning I was 137.5, but I know its water retention, so not letting it bother me.
Good stuff: I was able to ride the bike yesterday fro 15 min and did my calisthenics in the morning for 10 min. And tonight I'm planning on going riding my horse(since its staying lighter at night, I can squeeze it in after work), so I should be good in calorie burning department. :)
Going out for lunch at work, so planning on light or no dinner, depending on how much I will eat at lunch.

Ok, lunch was good. I did not eat too much - 3 pieces of chicken, a piece of bread, couple of small appertizer thingies, veggies and desert. I have no idea what it would come out to for calories. It was indian restaurant, and fitday has very limited database for indian cuisine. According to FitDay, I'm at 1200 cals, so I'll take that. :) Exercise was good, as I was able to go horse riding. Whoo-hoo!

Ok, I'm off the water rollercoaster finally and back to my weight of 136.5. Whoo-hoo.

I set up new mini-goal in fitday. In 2 months (may 15) I want to be 130. I think it is a reasonable goal, I should be able to achieve it even with higher calorie intake. I am hoping that I won't have a setback on exercise, like in February.

sounds good NTL. reasonable goal for sure...glad to hear you can get back on that bike, but be careful as you now how those setbacks go!

have a great day and awesome weekend!!

HAPPY ST.PATTY"S DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm doing my "HAPPY DANCE"Glad to hear you lost the water. Keep it up and you reach your goal on time.

Hey you are doing so well. Getting back into the exercise and your attitude is so positive its really great. Its good to hear you doing so well. And I am happy for you that you are off the water weight rollercoster lol. On the pluss side sounds like your managing to drink all your water now. I am so jealous I would love to go for a horse ride, its so great for burning caleries yet so much fun, if only every exercise was as fun as that. I think you goal is a great one and I know you can do it.

Thank you all for your support! I have to say, its easy to be positive when there is such a nice supportive group of people here.

Zoila, I'm sorry you cannot ride now. Some day, you will be back in the saddle! I am really happy that I was able to go riding after work. I used to be so exhausted all the time, I could not even dream of doing any after work activities!

I have to watch myself and not overdo. This weekend is promising to be a full one - have full day on Saturday planned and most of the day on Sunday. I am making sure that I get enough rest and sleep. Next weekend, I hope will be better.

Ok, I'm about to get out of the house for a day. I hope I'll find some good food choices for lunch and possibly dinner.

Yesterday was good, about 1200 cals, but was too tired to exercise last night. That's ok though as I got so much exercise Thursday.

Weight is gone back up to 137. Not sure if it is water retention or what. I was 136.5 before. I hope that active weekend will help me with loss.

Calories yesterday were 1200. Weight went down to 136.5. Still fluctuating I guess. Went horse riding today, so another good day of exercise. Whoo-hoo!
