not running, but 60 miles biking

biked 60 miles today, most i have ever done before is about 12. it was a pretty crazy experience really, 6.5 hours and it made me lose like 5lbs (im scared of what i was losing). i really screwed up by taking almost no food, i was dying the whole time, halfway i got some guy to give me a hotdog bun and that had me good for the next hour and a half, but i was running on empty after that. also i was on a mountain bike, not a good speed bike (had to watch all the crazy biker people in their clothes fly past me). also last night i jogged a good 3.5 miles which is by far the most ive ever jogged too. im liking this pushing myself thing, never really done it with cardio activities. i guess i just feel like saying i rode 60 miles today.

wow.
i wish i could bike 60 miles too but then it would take too long for me=p

You don't want to overexhurt yourself though. It will tear your body apart. Nutrition is all about maintaining a healthy balance...not killing yourself. Pushing yourself is good, but watch the amount of time that you do it for, and you have to make sure you eat properly.

The fact that you actually biked 60 miles should show you that you have enough motivation to push yourself. You just have to realize when to call it enough.

Wow, Great job, keep up the good work.

But yes, getting proper nutrition (food and liquid wise) is very important for your body to be able to energize before a long bike ride like you did. And even more so after you are done biking for replenishing and refueling.

Perhaps if you are going to be doing more of these longer bike rides to look into some kind of nutrition or energy / protein bars to take a couple with you to eat on the ride. Especially this time of year, remember to bring water, it is your friend :)

60 miles!? Wow. I remember when I was about 7 going on this massive bike ride with my friend and his dad, we were gone all day. I don't know how long that was, but 60 miles? God.

wow!

i bike a few times a week but my counter is long since broken.
