Well, I've been working out off and on since I was 18, but I have always struggled with my weight. I've done pretty good so far but I'm sort of stuck at the weight I am now.. I keep fluctuating between 190 and 195, and I never seem to be able to get the motivation to get smaller. I would LOVE to weigh my goal weight of 160lbs, but have yet to get there..

Hopefully coming here and asking for help will be what I need to help me kick myself in the butt and get on down the road. Here's my before, middle, and pre-after picture:

Good Job!....Starting is the Most important Step! I'm new to this Forum as well, but I love it!

HI! I was stuck at that weight for a while while going to the gym even. I had to re-evaluate my routine and hidden calories, you may need to change things up and cut back on things you didn't realize are keeping you stuck!! You look great and I am sure you will get to your goal!!! Good luck!

Wow! Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!! :)

I've always been a "big" girl.. (I'm 5'9 3/4" too!) and it's always been a goal to get to my ideal weight. I know that the BMI scale isn't 100% accurate because it doesn't account for bone and muscle and stuff, but I think 160lbs would be a good weight for me and I'd probably look skinny for once.. I hope..

I'd like to look lean.. :)

Right now I'm eating about 1600- 1800 calories.. Is there any way I can cut it lower than that? I don't want to starve myself, and I don't know how I can eat that little for a long term..

Well the less you weigh, the less you will need to eat to lose weight. Are exercising? I am sure I don't need to mention a caloric deficit is key to losing, as well as dieting/eating better. Have you calculated your BMR?

I think almost 2000 calories a day is a lot for your goal.

Well, I usually eat around 1760 cals a day.. and > 60 g fat..
I lift weights, and I just started doing cardio.. and I've found it VERY hard to feel full when I'm lifting heavy if I eat less calories than that..

Are there foods that make you feel "full" longer?

I think the problem for me is that I'm hypoglycemic also, so finding a balance is kind of a P.I.T.A!!!

I have the same problem .. I am hypoglicemic as well .. I usually eat a yogurt when I get hungry ... or 1/2 a sandwhich ..rye bread ...very good bread instead of white bread ... I eat ... one slice of ham or turkey and on slice of cheese ... that usually takes care of the hunger and I dont gain the weight back .. usually in the morning I still come out a pound less lol

good luck hun :)

Hey, congrats on your loss so far, you look great (and the ink is amazing also).

To the people wanting to feel fuller, maybe investigate Glycemic Indexes? I don't know very much about it so I can't tell you if the high or low GI foods are better, but then the internet is a wonderful thing :)

Foods that help you feel full longer are full of fiber. Lots of fruits and veggies, high fiber bread for sandwiches, whole wheat tortillas on burritos. Red meat is very high in fat so lots of turkey and crab instead of red meat and pork.

Trust me, this is from a guy who loves his red meat and pork, cheeses and white bread. Even in small amounts they have a high calorie load and won't provide you with enough to stay full.

Good Luck, and congrats on your regimen. You will get to where you want to be. Don't look for more than 2 lbs a week loss, and remember that lifting weights builds muscle and that weighs more. (Looks better too)

Keep up your attitude and motivation,
