No diet - just exercise - What exercise to do?

So after a looong time of eating as little unhealthy food as possible, I'm tired of it... Maybe in a world where the food industries decided to stop selling it everywhere and making it so available, then I could keep away - but when the whole family's eating cake - and not worrying about how much they have - I want to join the fun.

I can exercise well - I know that much. The most I've burned in one exercise session must definitely be in a long distance steady state run. But I hear so much about HIIT being so much better and all that. So just these quesions: Is it really neccessary to do HIIT instead of long steady state (which I sometimes find enjoyable), is it just a myth that it's so much more effective, and also what do you think of jump rope?

When eating what I want, but perhaps still wanting to cut my waist maybe a little bit, it would be best to exercise to burn a lot of energy. Thanks

In my experience you will see very little or very slow progress with just exercise alone. You can lose weight with just dieting but you cannot outtrain a bad diet.

I agree - It would be crazy thinking you can lose weight without exercise. Yes all things considered if you do reduce calorie intake you will lose some weight but wont burn fat. Fat burners only has a list of cool fat burning exercises that you can do at home, which is great for stay at home parents etc. I prefer HIIT but this is something i developed after doing beginner exercises.

Why not try eating clean Monday - Saturday, and then on Sunday eat exactly what you want.

This works great for my motivation to eat healthily because I know that at least one day a week I can gorge myself on absolute rubbish and know that ultimately it wont affect my weight loss routine.

I am running once a week, swimming once a week doing HIIT for an hour once a week and on my rest days do 10 min work outs first thing in the morning. Is that okay? Should I be doing something else? I like mixing it up because its fun and i am more likely to not skip a session.

To lose weight by purely exercise alone can get results although not as quick or as effectively when combined with positive nutrition.

Eating healthy does not have to be an extreme event. Incorporating a positive nutrition system in your day to day life can be done done very easily with a bit of planning. I plan smaller more frequent meals throughout the day and mix up great tasting and healthy food with metabolism boosting ingredients such as Kale, berries, almonds, lean meats, hot peppers etc.

I have incorporated an active lifestyle with a mix of HIIT and body weight exercises.

The combination of these is really giving great results (ave 2kgs/4.5 pounds a week)

Those are great questions

Here's a Tabata workout I did (which is a form of HIIT). This should answer your questions. Check it out if you like -

Exercise is important for weight loss but a healthy diet also plays a very important role in losing weight. So you need to follow a proper diet plan along with workout plan.

Exercising won't be enough if youre eating more calories then you're burning. As a matter of fact, if you diet correctly, you don't need to do ANY exercise. You dont have to eat healthy/clean all the time either. All you need to do is eat at a caloric deficit. Find your maintenance calories (calories needed to stay the same weight), and eat 3-500 calories below that. Its not complicated. This article does a better job at explaining. [Link Removed]
