Here we go!!!

How much weight do you want to lose? 25kg
What is the timeframe for reaching your target weight?eventually!
How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)? Optifast, exercise
Who or what can support you in reaching your goal?pedometer for recording steps daily, family, walking, postive thoughts
How realistic is your goal?Very!
When will you start? Starting tomorrow (well today now - 12.45am!) - sick of starting things on a Monday, as it is the start of the week. Just gonna jump in and do it!

So I will start Optifast tomorrow. I am doing the three shakes, with 2 cups vegies. I usually falter with these plans after it gets too hard - i.e. after the 4th day, and I have headaches. Not this time I AM DETERMINED!

Will be back tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that!

you're braver than I - no way could i do a liquid diet... food tastes too good...

good luck with it.. and take care of yourself... you can do whatever you put your mind to...

il ove that you have positive thoughts as how you are oging to reach your goal... can't do it without that.. atta girl!!
 
Welcome to your diary,
Like Mal, I could never sustain weightloss on a liquid diet. I have to eat what my family eats and love food too much. Not to mention, I think it's helpful to learn how to manage food/calories while "dieting" so that when it is over, I will know how to maintain the weightloss. I don't think I could do that on a liquid diet.

Good luck to you, remember to be adaptable while finding what works and what doesn't. Your determination will help you reach your goals :D
 
good lucl and welcome!Like they said ^^^^^ you are brave for doing the liquid diet it's all about chewing and hot meals for me (healthy 1's)!Is optifast like slimfast?If so doesnt it say a shake for breakfast a shake for lunch and a sensible dinner?Good luck to ya I wish you all the best Tammy
 
Thanks for all your support guys! It means a lot to me!

I'm not sure if Optifast is like Slimfast, Tammy. With Optifast you can choose go go 'intensive' which is three shakes a day, or the 'maintenance' with only two. The 'intensive' can last from 1 week through to 12. My dad did it recently for a couple of weeks and had a great result. There is no-way I can do this for 12 weeks, so I am going to go with it and see what happens! I need a massive kickstart after being this way for 6 years.

I have had my very first shake this morning for breakfast, and it was ok; I thought it would be worse, andyway, so that is a good thing! I have had two large glasses of water, and I am about to have another one. All good so far!

Little miss 'A' and I will be going for a walk to the park shortly too - I think its going to rain this afternoon.

Great job on jumping right in there! I did the same thing, why wait for a Monday when monday's suck anyways. I'm also doing a "shake" diet, but its herbalife and involves vitamins and snacks and I only do two shakes a day and a nice healthy meal.

Well I have had another shake, almost 2 litres of water and 120g grapes. I scoffed the grapes LOL! I can't wait to have vegies tonight! I can have two cups....I am really really hungry, so I might go and cook up half of them now, and have the rest tonight.
 
Well I lost the plot last night, my poor husband came home to a raving (starving) lunatic. I have done some research and I (we) decided that this may not be the best way to tackle my problem. I also chatted to Mum about it - as Dad has done Optifast as well.

We have come to this conclusion - I will have two shakes, breakfast and lunch, and have a really healthy dinner. Heaps of veg and some meat. I can't not eat. I was so scared of the way I felt last night that I thought that I would have to go back on my anti-depressants (PND). And, that I am not going to do, I am going to beat this.

Anyway, so today has gone a LOT better. I am really hungry at the moment (its 6pm here) and I feel good knowing that I will be having something to eat really soon.

Most of my problem is lack of exercise, alcohol, and takeaway. So to deal with this I need to do at least 30 mins a day exercise. Today I have run around in the backyard with my daughter for about 30 minutes, and I have done 20 mins of a Boot Camp DVD I have. I feel really good for the exercise. Alcohol is out, and so is takeaway. See how we go!

Thats it from me today, back tomorrow - Day 3! :eek:
 
Nicole I hope you decided to stick with the program. I thought the number of shakes they recommended was 5 instead of 3. That might be why you are still feeling hungry?
 
Hi Nicole. Welcome. I think your plan B sounds better. Hang in there. You will find what works for you.
