Hi, my name is Amanda and i'm 19 years old and I've been overweight my entire life. I had a lot of medical issues with asthma and heart palpitations when I very little, so I had to take different kinds of steroids for both of them which ended up resulting in a lot of weight gain. That mixed with bad eating habits continued to help me stack on the pounds.
Growing up i've dealt with a lot of teasing and people making me feel like less of a person than everyone is because i'm bigger. I get physically ill most of the time where I have to be in situations with people because it always feels like they're judging me, which is beyond frustrating because I enjoy most of life.
I'm really tired of my obesity running my life, so i've changed a lot of my habits. I'm a couple weeks old vegetarian (Choice based off of my values) and now I work out every day to aerobic videos, and my eating habits have improved. I normally eat oatmeal or whole grain bagels for breakfast, a salad for lunch and cooked vegetables/soups/whole grain pastas for dinner with vegetables or fruits in between if I need to snack.
I'm feeling a lot better about myself now, gaining self confidence every day. I'm still a little wary about getting a scale to see how much I weigh, but i'd like to to track my progress, i'm just incredibly nervous about it.
I live with my mom and she isn't too happy with my lifestyle choice because it's not as simple as opening a bag of cookies for dinner so I don't really have anyone to talk to because i've been afraid of making friends and maintaining them due to how I see myself.
I'm really looking forward to meeting you all and sharing my progress with you <3
