hey guys,
im 18, about 6ft 255 and im trying to lose about 40-50 lbs fast and easy. I changed my eating habits dramatically. i use myclorie counter to show me wheat i can or cannot eat. i Think that site works good. My co-worker used it last year and lost 40 lbs without even exercising.

For me ,like i said, I use that site. I work so right after i go work out at my ballys. i hit the weights, doing lighter weight with more reps (i used to play football, so i was use to doing heavier weight, less reps). after that i do some ellipticals. pull downs, dips and other arms, then i use a crunch simulator. ( i got a belly). after i usually jog/run 3/4- 1 mile . When i get home i drink a protein called muscle milk Lite.

SO anyone got any ideas, advice or problems of what i do?hahah

the site says i need to eat around 2000 calories a day to help me loose weight, which is not problem with me. Oh and i take Animal cuts when i wake up and 6 hrs later.

thanks for the help!!!

Hi and welcome.

My first suggestion would be to read the stickies in the nutrition and exercise areas of the board. There's lots of good information there.

2000 calories a day isn't bad - when I run the figures, I come up with 2500, especially with the amount of exercising you're doing, but I don't think 2000 is completely unreasonable. It is important, however, that your 2000 calories be GOOD calories. You want to make sure you're getting enough protein and healthy fats (both of which tend to get cut out when people are "dieting"). I would recommend at a minimum at split of 40/30/30 (that's 40% carbs, 30% protein, and 30% healthy fats) in your diet.

One thing I will say is that this: doing lighter weight with more reps is utterly freakin' useless. :) If you want to build strength and lose weight, then go back to fewer reps, heavier weights. Light weights and lotsa reps doesn't stimulate muscle growth which is what helps maintain lean muscle and burn calories. When you do lots of reps, all you're doing is building endurance and raising your heart rate, which basically makes your weight lifting session into more cardio.

Also don't worry about the crunch thing. Crunches are the least effective way to build your abs and core. And they won't do a thing for your belly - the only thing that will help that is losing the fat. Switch out to things like planks, pushups, squats - any full body type of exercise that requires you to maintain form and balance while exerting yourself. Those will build your entire core. And believe me, planks look easy but they will kick your ass! :)

Hope that helps.

thanks for the adivce, it really helps. I will defiantly switch back to heavier weight and do these "planks." i can do pushups really well, so ill probably stick to them.hahha :cheers2:
