Hi Everybody,

I am 22 years old. Four years ago I was very active and in good shape. At the peak of my fitness I was 180Lbs. I was very dedicated to Martial arts holding a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwon-do and a black belt Arnis. I was doing martial arts four times a week and doing weights on top of that.

Upon leaving high school I noticed i put on some weight which I thought was normal as my life style had changed. I found my weight gain was spiraling out of control. I found I was always tired and always hungry. I was so tired I stopped doing martial arts and just wanted to stay home and sleep. I found that I would drive for a hour and wouldn't remember the trip at all. I went to see a Doctor and was diagnosed hypothyroid.

Four years have passed and coupled with shift work and poor eating habits I have found that I have gone from my nice 180 Lbs to just short of 280 Lbs. I had been looking for that scapegoat for a while. Saying the doctors must be wrong and the blood tests must be wrong. My thyroid levels are not what they should be. After reading a book about my conditions I am ready to face facts. Poor eating habits and lack of exercise have gotten me to where i am. I have not gone back to my previous eating habits and have been stuck in a rut.

2 weeks ago I started to really watch what was going into my body. I have stayed clear of all of my fast food weaknesses. I have been having cravings for junk like mad but I am managing it well enough. This week I started my fitness plan. I have been going a bit to ambitious for just getting back on the horse but hanging in there.

Hopefully I can find a good support circle here and share in the struggle.

Thanks all!

Hey, welcome to WLF! Sounds like you know what you have to do--I'd recommend making a diary here in the diary section. Logging your daily food and exercise is a great way to keep you accountable :) good luck!

Hey

Hey there :)

Where do I find a diary to log my food intake and stuff like that? sounds like a good idea. I put on so much weight when I was pregnant with my daughter and now Im 232 lbs (starting weight 240, I've lost 8lbs this week), and I'm determined to get the weight off. I've never been skinny but i was quite slim at one point.

Good luck on your weight loss journeys, we can do it together :)
