Hi Everybody,
I am 22 years old. Four years ago I was very active and in good shape. At the peak of my fitness I was 180Lbs. I was very dedicated to Martial arts holding a 2nd degree black belt in Taekwon-do and a black belt Arnis. I was doing martial arts four times a week and doing weights on top of that.
Upon leaving high school I noticed i put on some weight which I thought was normal as my life style had changed. I found my weight gain was spiraling out of control. I found I was always tired and always hungry. I was so tired I stopped doing martial arts and just wanted to stay home and sleep. I found that I would drive for a hour and wouldn't remember the trip at all. I went to see a Doctor and was diagnosed hypothyroid.
Four years have passed and coupled with shift work and poor eating habits I have found that I have gone from my nice 180 Lbs to just short of 280 Lbs. I had been looking for that scapegoat for a while. Saying the doctors must be wrong and the blood tests must be wrong. My thyroid levels are not what they should be. After reading a book about my conditions I am ready to face facts. Poor eating habits and lack of exercise have gotten me to where i am. I have not gone back to my previous eating habits and have been stuck in a rut.
2 weeks ago I started to really watch what was going into my body. I have stayed clear of all of my fast food weaknesses. I have been having cravings for junk like mad but I am managing it well enough. This week I started my fitness plan. I have been going a bit to ambitious for just getting back on the horse but hanging in there.
Hopefully I can find a good support circle here and share in the struggle.
Thanks all!
