Hi everyone,
Today I've finally bitten the bullet and admitted to my GP that I need help to lose (a lot of) weight, so I've got my food lists and here I am!!

This has to be the last time, I've just turned 39 and I DO NOT want to be "fat and 40"

I have to go back to the gocs in 3-wks to be checked, so fingers crossed I'll be heading in the right direction.

Any tips / advice would be gratefully apreciated

Here goes.....

Hi, and welcome to the forum :)

Do you have any strategies in mind that you want to use to help you lose weight?

I'd recommend starting off by looking around the forum for ideas- the stickied posts in particular (they're full of really valuable information), the before/ after section (for inspiration) and the diary section (to see how other people are doing this day to day or week to week, and, if you want to, start a thread there for support).

Best of luck :)

Welcome!! I look forward to seeing you around the boards!! :) I find this to be a really supportive and informative place to share my journey and learn about fitness, nutrition and motivation.

Hi keeno and welcome

I turn 30 this year and was in the same school of thought as you. I did not want to turn 30 and still be jiggling around with man boobs and have more chins than a chinese phone book.
