Hello everyone! I just found out about this website yesterday after googling "weight loss before and after photos". After some browsing, I was surprised to find so many REAL people who've gone through tremendous transformations. I've been on Xanga for some support but I see too many 130 girls wanting to be stick thin models and it's quite depressing. I want to do this a more healthier way. These other girls were blogging about throwing up food, taking ex-lax, and going on fasts for as long as possible. This is a better community for me and I am so inspired by everyone! A little about me:

22 years old, college student, been overweight all my life but in my college I went from 160 to 200 in a 2-3 year time frame. When I used to work and go to school full-time I was eating huge meals and then going to bed because I was so tired. I did this for a while and the weight just crept on, the funny thing is that I've always stayed in the size 10-12 pants size except for once when I had to go to a 14. I have also been diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) which have made it hard for me to lose weight and also makes me very tired all the time. I stopped taking all the medication they gave me though.
:puke:

Since last week I have lost 10 lbs and my goal is to be at most 130 lbs, that's a healthy weight for my height. I look forward to coming on here everyday for support because it really helps to feel so much love, especially with this very personal subject. :piggy:

Hi SheMoves!
I thought i'd send you a little hello since you send one to me and made my day ; }
LOve your pictures, and the funny faces LOL (good one) Well you already look like a sexy girl, and i'm positive when you reach your goal (the healthy way) your gonna knock them dead. Good luck!

Hey Shemoves, I read your story and I'm dealing with P.C.O.S. too as well as the insulin resistance that goes with it. When I found out about it initially and started taking metformin I started losing weight easier than ever but that didn't last too long. It's still not as hard as it was before but it definitely may take me longer than some.

Not sure how long I've had it or which came first, the weight or the p.c.o.s, but the last 100lbs I gained the doctor definitely thinks was because of its added problem. I have 3 friends and 2 other people I know that when they lost weight their bodies reset from the sound of it and they no longer deal with it. My doctor said it's wait and see but I have a feeling mine will to and this is temporary. Just out of curiosity, are you doing any certain eating plan because of it?

I've always had an Asian food diet, my family grows our own veggies and we rarely grocery shop. The only time I gained weight was being away for school and living off-campus. I would cook really big meals and eat it all myself. I hope that by losing weight it will reset the PCOS, because it's the number one reason why women have a hard time conceiving. Did the Metformin really help you lose weight? I stopped taking Metformin because it was just too many pills to take. Also, there's a thread at livestrong.com on PCOS and the foods that you should avoid. I'll try to look for it.

Thank you so much! I love the funny faces too, hopefully the girls don't see this pic, they might get mad LOL. Are you on a specific regimen? I haven't started working out, I've just cut my intake for a week now. I was able to fit in my jeans from 3 years ago so that must be a good sign! LOL

Good JOB on your WEIGHT LOSS so FAR!!! YOU can DO IT!!! I'm ROOTING for you!!! ;)

I'm also a PCOSer. I quit metformin because the side effects made it impossible to work (needing a bathroom every 15 min). It's harder for PCOS girls to lose weight, but we can do it! Stick with it!

It IS harder for us to lose weight but that doesn't mean we should give up. I think it should only motivate us to work harder. I'm tired of playing the sick person, lol. I was going to the doctor's every week for a while and I was thinking to myself, "I'm only 21, I shouldn't be this unhealthy". I'm glad I found this forum too because I don't have to feel ashamed of listing my weight or talking about any of my problems actually. =)

I don't know why but it keeps surprising me how many people in this forum are fighting pcos or insulin resistance like me. I'm not happy others have it but it's nice to talk to other people who can relate and also know stuff that I don't about it.

I don't have a set regimen, I have to be honest and say i'm very bad at counting calories, I do run alot ot my home treadmill, i do 1 hour to 1 1/2 a day for at least 4-5 days a week, i usualy run 4 to 5 miles.
I know if i started counting calories then hopefully fat will start melting off like butter, so that's something i'm in the process of learning.
We could learn from each other ; } Congratulations on fitting to those jeans!
