Hi Everyone, I am a 27 and have been struggling with weight my whole life. I've always had a love for food. It just tastes so darn good =P. I’ve FINALLY come to realize that my weight has been the root of my problems. I’ve allowed myself to hide behind it and it has kept me from doing things I’ve always wanted to do.
I recently got out of a 3 yr relationship and it has opened my eyes. I lost all ambitions for myself and got too “comfortable”. Working out has really helped me through this tough time and I’m learning to love it. All this weight has left me with low self esteem and an all around negative energy. I’ve been up and down with the weight and never stayed committed. I am now ready to find myself and let that inner confidence radiate. I’m motivated, determined and focused. This is a battle I want to win and understand it starts by changing my lifestyle. I'm ready for a brand new me inside and out!
Starting Weight as of 4/27/09: 192 lbs
My Current Weight: 188 lbs
My Goal Weight: 125 lbs
My Current Plan:
I've been using an app on my iPhone called "Lose it"
It tracks all my food/calories and exercise. I've counted calories before (pen and notebook) and it has really worked for me. Now with this app it's a breeze. With the information I provided the app and wanting to lose 2 lbs a week, I am allowed 1200 calories a day. Calorie intake increases with exercise.
Meal Plan:
I'm all about convenience but have recently learned I enjoy cooking. With my lifestyle, it works well for me. These are the main things I eat but I do switch it up. I’ll eat whatever looks tasty and healthy.
Morning: Slim Fast Shake or English muffin with 1 TBSP of Peanut Butter
Snack: Nutrigrain Bar, Fruit, Crackers or Oatmeal
Lunch: Lean Cuisine, Sandwiches
Snack: Nutrigrain Bar, Fruit, Crackers or Oatmeal
Dinner: (Freshly prepared) Grilled Chicken Breast & Vegetables, Salads or Pretty much anything but in moderation. I do try to make healthier choices though.
Workout Plan:
I try to do different things so I don’t get bored. Since I have free time now, I push for 6 days a week. I listen to upbeat music to get me pumped.
Cardio (Elliptical, Treadmill) at least 30 minutes a day. Best with Interval training.
Workout DVDs – Fast Walking, Kickboxing, Aerobics
Walk/Jog in the park
Hiking with a friend
If you have a gym membership, take classes there
Swimming (I’m not comfortable with my body to swim yet.)
Tips:
There's no easy/quick solution. No magic pill or diet. You have to change your lifestyle. Focus on being healthy rather than being thin.
Make NO Excuses! You are WORTH the time and effort!
Exercise, not only is it key for weight loss but it’s good for your overall health.
I feel terrific after a good sweat.
Patience, I am so not good with this. However I am doing much better. It is easy to get frustrated because the weight is not coming off fast enough. Good things take time. Just stick with your plan and stay positive. It’s only as difficult as you make it.
Nothing FRIED!!! Ok sometimes but try to stay away from it.
It's ok to treat yourself once in a while but remember, all in MODERATION.
No Soda. They’re just empty calories. Drink Water LOTS of water.
If you fall off the wagon, get back on and keep going!

I'm looking foward to talking to you all!
