I'm a 25 year old female and 248 pounds at the moment. I have been obese all of my life (was born at 9 pounds 10 ounces). I've been exercising regularly for 4 years now, cardio 5 times a week and weight training 2-3 times a week. In the beginning all that happened was I gained muscle no fat loss. Then I decided to go low carb after understanding that I had PCOS and low-carb was the way to go. I lost 25 pounds that way, plateaued for a year and then slowly crept up 10 pounds to my current weight. Much of my weight is the result of binge eating. I've been controlling my binge eating lately, but still see the scale not budging. I'm at a loss for how to get out of this rut. I eat about 50% fat 30% carbs and 20% protein, but my weakness is sugary fatty foods (ice cream, cupcakes, cookies). I would love to decrease the fat and increase the protein, so any tips on how to do that sustainably would be appreciated. I count my calories using fitday.com and I wear a heart rate monitor to track my calories burned.
I'm a nutrition nut, so I know so much about what I should be doing, but just can't do it. I'm hoping this forum will help me figure out what I can do to restart the weight loss.
