New workout routine needed... Help me ronda! help help me ronda!

Lol sorry for the lame title. I just kind of thought of that song all of a sudden. ANYWAYS i need a new workout routine. I think i want to workout 5 days a week. I was thinkin twice a day maybe. I hear its not good to do the same muscle for over an hour. So is it ok to stop and then do it again later that day? Maybe somethin like

monday- upper body
tues- lower body
weds- back abs or jus run/cardio
thurs- upper body
friday- lower body

I was thinking that doing that workout with various exercises for lower and upper body but never the same exercise as the previous workout session. And ill probably run or swim (since im a lifeguard) various days. I just need help getting bigger. In football they give use a workout every day and it starts off light weights lots of reps at the beginning and as the summer goes on it gets heavier with less reps. What do you guys think? I need serious help if im gonna have a membership to a gym with all of these machines ive never used lol. somebody help me!
 
I think it's better to work the same muscle group with twice-a-day workouts. keep the first session at 45 minutes tops and second session at 30 minutes tops. The first session should be more compound movements with heavier weight and second session with more isolation at higher reps.
