New to this forum, not to the weight loss game...

Hi V! Welcome to the forum. I know it seems like your not getting much support yet. But that will come. For some reason we never get a huge responce in the 'newbie' section. You'll find friends and get that support your looking for, sometimes it just takes time.

What are you going to school for??? I was going for nursing, but had to pull out. Its just too hard to do that with two little ones at home. Looking to open your own business too huh??? Sounds like your one busy bee!!!

As far as rewards might go, I wouldnt' look to food as a reward. You could get a mani/pedi or buy an awesome piece of clothes. Maybe you could go on a 'girls night out' with some friends??

I'm a little concerned about your goal. I know its possible, people have done it. I just don't know that its healthy. You might lose 3 or more lbs a week now, but after a while it'll slow down. A healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week...which would be 52-104lbs a year..still a GREAT weight loss!!

Good luck on your journey!! We are here for you :)

I'm going for Business Marketing, and then to a different school for bakery and pastry making after I get my Bachelor's.

Well, my doctor's have told me that since I am already so tall, losing weight won't take long. I'm just hoping to get a lot of this basic weight off so I can start buying normal sized clothes. If I could be a size 14 by the end of next year I'd be ecstatic, though my real goal is a size 9, like my bestie.

Even if I hit that plateau, my biggest worry is extra skin, because I carry a lot of this weight on my rear and my tummy. Heck, if I could even just get a flat stomach, I'd be happy with a large arse. :3

Thanks for the reply, Korrie.

At 300+, then yes you can safely do about 3 pounds for a week right now. The good rule of thumb is 1% of your weight a week. As you can see, that means it will slow down as you need to slow down in the weight loss.

As far as extra skin, slow weight loss is a great way to help prevent that. It might not happen, that's true but I'm also thinking that you are still fairly young so you might escape that possible scene.

Would I be better off with weight/strength training for my arms to help get keep the skin tight? I know that will be my biggest site for loose skin; as far as my stomach and butt, I figure that sit-ups and cycling can help nip that in the bud.

Any other preventive exercises I might consider to keep myself from looking like Jabba the Hut?

That's not really going to help your skin. You can build some muscle up to help but it's basicly like an overstretched shirt. In time it can come back, slow weight loss will help, your age will help..

Yeah, I guess that's another thing that has me worried. I'd like to get down to a decent weight, even if it takes a while, before I turn 21/22. I'd like to go to clubs in my prime and not be kicked out by a bouncer, haha.

Anyone know why I would have brown discoloration on my arm flab? It looks more like a splotchy birthmark, but I've never really paid any attention to it.

Hi and welcome to this forum.
I saw your post in the off topic section. Sometimes It does take a bit before getting responses. For myself there are just too many people for me to respond to all of them. A lot of times I just read the posts. Hang in there and you will find some buddys.
Good luck and don't give up.
Lynn
