I just read an article in the New York Times that reported some scientific research that showed that the old weight-loss advice to "breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dine like a pauper" is not helpful at all.
Here's a quote for you:
“Whenever someone comes to me for dietary advice and says, ‘I never eat breakfast,’ I say, ‘Keep doing what you’re doing,’ ” said the senior author, Dr. Volker Schusdziarra, a professor of internal medicine at the Technical University of Munich. “Eating breakfast is just added calories. You’ll never compensate for them at subsequent meals.”
you can read the whole thing
In my experience...it's true! My daily totals tend to stay the about same, whether I remember to eat my morning oatmeal or not..... In fact, if anything, I consume fewer calories on non-breakfast days....
What do you guys think?
