Well my journey started back in november of 2004. For the past year I haven't really lost much weight which is kind of discouraging but it's my own fault really since I stopped working out.

But I'm trying to start up again and I'm hoping this forum will be a good motivator. Heres some before and afters.

Starting weight: 304
Current weight:184

Any advice in getting out of a platue would be appreciated! Also whats some cheap healthy food to eat on a very small budget? I'm a full time study and only make about 100$ a week. half of that goes to bills and gas.

you are adorable - and you look like a lot of fun too :) welcome to the forum...

try startinga diary - it's a great place for support and to get answers to yoour questions... and also list out what your current stats are - including what you eat on a regular basis to get better answers.

have fun while you are here :)

I eat about a pound of chicken a day and brown rice.. Thats about $4 a day, if that..

You look really good though, turned into a full blown hottie :D

You look like two different people before and after. How great you must feel. The leaner you took a step out, she's too cute!!! Congrats and keep up the good work.

congrats on your weightloss so far! you look so much younger now then your before pics lol weird how weight change can do that to some people

lol yea, people think I am 16 now... I'm really 22

Chicken and rice sounds like a good idea actually, as long as I can sneak in some ketchup on that chicken :p

Thanks for the encouragement guys.

your current body shot, looks like me right about now.

congrats on all the weight loss, you're absolutely adorable!

wow thats a huge difference. Congrats. You're facial expressions are more dominant in the later pics. Loosing the weight has done you're face good. haha

very cool. congrats

Hey, that is incredible!

Recommendations:

Cans of tuna
Beans
Whole wheat pasta
fresh fruit and veggies
Frozen veggies
Block of cheddar
Peanut butter
Microwave or jiffy Popcorn
Buy the big carton of eggs and crack half and freeze the yolks in ice cube trays.

I'm trying to think what the food stamp program gave me way back when I was a very poor struggling college student & new mother... it was staples like peanut butter and orange juice and cheese and tuna... I think to make sure we were all getting our nutrients.

You might want to invest in this book, it is a LaLeche league book but it has great recipes for very basic but nutritious meals with cheap ingredients:

Did I mention you look great? ;)

Hey there! Congrats on your success - you look fantastic!!

As far as getting past plateaus, I heard that interval training is the best way to overcome those frustrating times when you work and work and don't get any further ahead. For example, instead of running at the speed and incline for half an hour, mix it up. alternate speed and incline. You're working different muscles at different rates.

Hope this helps!
