New girl needs a buddy, club, motivation, help!!

I'm very new.

This is the first time I've actually looked at the site at all. I looked up this forum for the same reasons as you: I'm in need of some motivation/support. I've g5one on and off dieting for as long as I can remember. I'm turning 21 in August and would like to get into shape. You all seem very nice. I'm not sure how to join the group exactly nor how to work this site that well. I'm sure I'll pick up though. Let's see...I'm:

Height 5' 4"
Highest 195 lbs.
Current 184 lbs.
Goal 125 lbs.

I too hope I can manage my bad eating habbits, my birthday is in August as well. Hopefully we can get to a good weight by our Birthday *fingers crossed*

Hey Tina S, really glad to c ya again! Sorry you've been going through a tough time but really good to hear your getting back on track. I went through like a fortnight of slipping back into VERY bad habits again.... i put 2lbs back on... such a demotivator. Im slowly getting back into the "right frame of mind" again. Its hard but I really believe we can do this! Just gotta keep trying!

Hello Ladies!
And welcome to the new ones to you great group.
I had a hard weekend as I knew I would. But I am not going to beat myself up over it. I went camping like I said we were and I did the hike we planned on. I was so great!! The views from the top of the mountain was breath taking. The end result (the views) is such a great reward. It is hard getting there but when you do man the feeling you get is worth ever step.
Like I said I was not great with eating but I was active. So I am too back at harder than ever now. It is a great feeling when you can get to a place where you trust yourself enough to fall and then pick yourself up and keep going. I have not weighed myself to see how much damage was done. I don't really care if I gained because I know that it will only be on for a short time. I am so focused and it feels great. My husband and I are planning on hiking Mt Washington this summer. It is the tallest mountain in the Northeast. It is a mountain that takes maybe 8 or more hours to do. I have hiked it 2 times before and I was in poorer health than now I feel. So I am pumped.

I' am glad to hear from both of you!
I have been away, trying to really think about my weight loss journey, I havn't made much changes if at all, still eating the awful food. It's been maybe a little over a month now..boy do I miss jogging. I've been walking a lot though, I want to start slowly.
How is everyone? it's been a while and I sure miss you all

Hi all,

I am also trying to lose weight. I set a goal to lose 15 lbs, by a certain point (my halfway mark) then 15 more for a total of 30lb. I joined this forum to have a place to talk to others about my experience.

I've never officially started a diet, or a serious weight loss program, but my weight has steadily rose from what I considered ideal to what it is now. I finally decided to do something about it. WIsh me luck everyone and good luck to everyone else
 
This forum is the greatest place to go to for motivation! Everyone here is cheering you and your goals on!! :)
Also, my Mom joined Weight Watchers (lost 50 pounds!). She brought me along one day, and there were many people (20/30) sharing their success and blunder stories. Everyone was motivating and and helping their peers. It was a great experience!

Its great to read that you are all happy and doing well. The support and love radiating from this thread is amazing..

just to update you all myattempts at being healthy kinda hit a brick wall..:banghead: ive had a cold/flu thing on and off for almost a month now, it seems it hasnt had a week of sunshine (which is really unusual) since i 1st got sick and my 1st set of uni exams are in full swing.. :nopity:

But i promise i have been buying health magazines and reading through them seeing what i could do and what might work. Ive even tried some of the yummy recipes that were in there.:drool5:

My mum is going to be my health buddy for a while so i can find my feet she is a big insiration for me. she was my size this time last year and is now 3 dress sizes smaller and she did it all by herself without a gym membership or anything. Here's hoping i can get some of that rubbed off onto me..

Hello ladies! I have been away from my computer for awhile but now I am back. I have been needing an extra push lately. i am not sure what is going on with me. I am finding it hard to stay motivated.
