New girl needs a buddy, club, motivation, help!!

Hiya!
I'm pretty much brand new here (i had been using the forum for weight-loss tips (really helpful btw!) but hadn't actually registered).

Lil bit bowt me:
Height: 5'6.5'' (that .5 is important! lol)
Heaviest: 170lbs
Current : 158 lbs

I want to lose weight to feel better about mysef, make buying clothes much eaiser and to be healthier! :hurray:

And I really need help with motivation!! What's the best way to find a weight-loss buddy in similar circumstances? Or join a club? Is there a weekly weigh-in section that people use regularly?

Any reply wud be really appreciated! Thank you!

Both you and I already share plenty in common, I'm about the same age as you, 5'6 (just 5'6 hehe)
my heaviest was 170-180 pounds and I'm 158 right now. My goal is to be 120!
Now you know what that means..you've gotta stay here, don't wonder away from us now hehe =P
I think the best way to find a weight-loss buddy is by asking your friend..I have a weight loss buddy here, I wouldn't mind being your weight loss buddy as well. the more the better I say =) since we are on the same track.

I have made wonderful supporting people here. And I know that when I turn on my computer that my new friends are going to be there with their thoughts. I have just paid attention to what I eat. I don't eat all that bad anyway just allot. I also have been walking around 3 miles a day and sometimes 4. I use ankle weights and to be honest I stopped drinking beer during the week. I only had maybe one or two. But when they are about 200 cals a bottle it makes you think twice. I only enjoy wine and beer on weekends now. Only one day of cheating. I know that sounds a little bad but I do enjoy a relaxing drink. I feel alittle strange by attempting it because there are not allot of people who mention that they may have a drink. So I don't know why I just went off on that subject. I just would never want to offend anyone.

I eat mostly the same foods I always have. I feel what has helped allot is moving my body. I have been trying to get into jogging. What are your goals and your plan for success? I will enjoy talking and sharing with you some ideas. And I will also love to hear your ideas on different things.

Anyway thank you so much for your kind words. And thanks for letting my join in you the fun club! We are all going to rock this!

My short term goal is to be 150-140 pounds by the end of this month.
I'd really like to be 140 maybe in two months for the summer.
I'm already getting to 150 =) it feels wonderful
What are your short term goals so far that you've thought of?
Let us know how your diet has been so far? Have you been adding exercise to your lifestyle? If that's not too rude of me to ask

My name's mel:) I'm 5'6 too haha:) well almost 5'7 and I was wondering if I could join ya club? Ya all seem like such nice girls:)

I have a little more weight to lose but im getting there slowly!!! By May 13th I want to be down to 85 kilos!!! I'm so sure I can do it and maybe more if I try extra hard. Still along way from you guys haha:) But it will mean a 20 kilo weight loss so far and only (ONLY hehe) another 25 to go:D

Welcome to the club Mel! I am so glad you would like to join our weight loss gang.:party: I know with the support of good people that you will have the success you desire. You are a very pretty young lady. So welcome to you!

I do have goals as far as my size I don't care so much of the number on the scale as long as I can wear a pair of great jeans! I also would like for the 1st in 3 years to wear a real bathing suit. I have worn swim shorts in the past. But not this year no way I am going all the way with a Nike bathing suit I already bought! So I have to get to the size to wear it!

How much do we want to post here? Or should we post in our usually place under our names and we just check in here to see if any one has a new post? I would love to come here and get advise and maybe help with your questions if I can. That way we are not posting the something twice.

So what do you wonderful ladies think? Oh yeah I have added each of you to my buddy list!!!! Yeah!!! We are so much stronger as a group. I will help you all the best way I can. And I will need to lean on you allot to I imagine. I am so glad that we can do this from all over the world.

hey. I'm 20 years old too. I am from Buffalo New York and I weigh 130. I'm trying to get down to 110 since I am only 5'0. Yes very short. Let be motivation buddies on this because I really need it.
I spin and lift 3 times a week, but sometimes I need that extra push to get to the gym.

I'm so glad you've joined, I luv this lil club we've got going here! I really think we're all gonna do really well with each other's help n support.

4everSome1Else and ttnichols, u were talking about where to post, what u said sounds gr8, but where is "the usual place"? Sorry I'm pretty clueless!

My plan for the next few weeks:
Upto 1250 kcal per day,
1 hour aerobic exercise DvD 4-5 days a week
30mins Power walking/jogging 3 days a week

What do you think? I've no idea whether this too little or too much for me, but I shud figure it out soon!

Anyway, hope you're all doing really well, speak to u soon!

If I don't message you anytime soon. How is everyone? did you get into any sticky situations? been lazy?
I'm feeling lazy today didn't sleep much and I plan to go to sleep right now (after this small letter) but I HOPE I' am not too lazy to go for a jog, It'd be real sad if skipped that. If I don't go for a jog today I'll walk my pooch and go for a bike ride until 8-9
Hopefully everyone is happy, healty and doing really well.
PinkFluffI think that should be pretty good, about 1300 cals would be even better but what you've got going is pretty good
As for the walk/jog I do mine for an hour or two. Maybe 45 mins for you could be good?
I' am no pro at this, just learning as with all of us. but, great job. Also after a few weeks, what about walking/jogging 4-5 times a week?
