New Chapter... Hopefully a Thinner One!

Hello Everyone!

I will lose the weight! I just keep telling myself that.

I am starting a new part of my life. Just started my post school career, started my new job, moved to a new town (way out in the country), got a new apartment, got a new man, quit smoking... the list of things that changed recently for me goes on and on. All these changes triggered some weight gain, about 30 pounds in 7 or 8 months. I am finally getting used to the changes and now I think it is time for me to make one more big change. I want to lose the 30 pounds and then some.

I started about 2 weeks ago with a purge of all things sugar (white flour, alcohol, actual sugar, snacks, soda, etc.) in my apartment. I replaced it all with fruit, veggies, whole grains, lean meats, and water.

I also started exercising twice a day. A resistance workout in the morning and an hour cardio at night.

I have started seeing a little bit of progress on the scale, but I don't see it in the mirror yet. It is a bit frustrating so I starting looking online for some kind of support and ended up here.

Wish me luck! I hope this works!

I decided to hide my scale today. I will let myself get it out again in a week. I am working hard and eating better than I have in my whole life and it is frustrating when you don't have the kind of progress you expect.

The upside is that I am feeling stronger. I do lots of workout DVDs because I don't really have access to a gym most of the time and I am starting to feel like the level one workouts on these dvds are not pushing me hard enough. The level two workouts are still tough, but I just have to keep reminding myself that I will get there.

I am just praying that the numbers go down when I take out that scale next week.

Bad weekend... I definitely ate too much due to my boyfriend's family gatherings. I kept up the exercise so I am hoping that I hedged some of the damage. Back to the diet this evening.

Hi Oneday!

Welcome to the forum.

Looks like you made a lot of changes and you are well on your way to success!

Don`t worry bout the weekend...there will be lots more to worry about. But the good thing is that you recognised what you did. After a while, you will be conditioned and do even better on those weekends!

Again, welcome and looking forward to your progress!

Thanks! I am hoping weekends get easier. I stayed away from the cake and pie (which is hard to do cause I live in a town that is a bit like living in Pleasantville) but I still ate meals I should have avoided. It was hard to get back on track, but I think I am ok now.
