I'm Dennis. I've been fat / obese all of my life. I started a plan about 7 years ago (at 305), lost over 90 pounds, and then over the last 3 years put all but 10 pounds back on (currently at 295).

I was on a program called New Day Weight Loss. Did it for at least 1 year. Now that my twin daughters are years old, it's time for me to get my s&!t together again.

Did a 25 minute walk in the wonderful 73 degree Minnesota Spring sunshine.

Starting Weight / 1st G / 2nd G / 3rd G / 4th G / End G = 180 LBS
295 LBS / Memorial Day = 280 LBS / July 4th = 265 LBS / Labor Day = 250

We'll see how much I can post here. Have a really busy life with toddler twins.

Did the 3:00 PM walk again today. My back hurt like Hell today from the walk.

One of the biggest things I want to work on is not eating in the middle of the night and not eating after 7:30 PM. I find that I have to get up at least 2 times a night to pee, and when I get done, I meander to the kitchen for a peanut butter or cheese sandwich. Oddly enough, even when I don't drink anything beyond 7:30, I still find myself getting up too many times at night.

I can't wait until May 1st at work. They are handing out pedometers, and we are having a walking challenge. I'm in sales, so I don't get much opportunity to walk, but it's going to maybe help me post my miles here.

That's all for now.

Salads

I normally take a salad to work every day. I took time today to check on what I was doing. Even being conscious of measuring, I assembled a 450 calorie salad. I was floored when I realized how much I was eating, especially if I was trying to be careful and still came out with 450 calories.

I think it's time to get serious about changing my menu again.

My company just started a walking program. I put on 12 miles from last friday to yesterday around lunch time. So far since then, I've put on another 1.15 miles. I'm going to try to walk over lunch and do a walk for an afternoon break from the doldrums at work.

If you think that 450 calories is a lot for lunch, how many calories a day are you getting?

A walking program at work is great! Hopefully you're enjoying nice weather...

an earlier post you mentioned your back hurting from a walk - do make sure that you are wearing properly fitting shoes for your walk - a running store shoudl be able to put you into a good pair.. and save yourself from pain.

thedarwinfish, It seems I'm walking about 1/2 mile to and from the bathroom, getting faxes, to the lunchroom, getting coffee, etc. I also take a 1 mile walk in the afternoon. My goal is to get to 4 1/2 miles a day.

Good luck with that. That more walking you get in during the day and the course of the job the less you're forced to walk later. I wish I had more walking in my job so I could get away without having to walk 30-40 minutes after work every day.

How's the weight loss coming?
