Hi my name is Nicole and im 20

i have been up and down on this damn weightloss roller coaster and its such an upsetting ride :l

growing up i was always big even tho i played soccer. my best time of my life was Sophmore yr when i played soccer for HS and i got such a forced but AWESOME workout, due to the practices. i was 160lbs going in and at the end of that yr i was 120 or less. i was so ecstatic and got compliments and even my uncle said that i actually had a jaw line now. i think at that moment thats what qued this "perfect image" thing in my head. but over the months/yrs i gained most of it back :(

at the moment i am 150-155lbs and i know thats not a crazy weight but for 5'2" chick, its not right. I have the running shoes, the workout dvds, the healthy foods, the workout clothes, THE DOG XD, everything/anything that could aid me but I. CANT. KEEP. IT. GOING!!! ill start strong for like 2-3 days then i fall off the wagon and itll be like weeks until i pick it up again. ---> :( <--- one thing tho is that im so NOT a vegetable person, cant eat many of them so salads dont exist in my life but i can eat fruits like a beast XD. its pretty sad that when i say im going to finally lose weight, my husband lets out a chuckle and i ask why and hes like you say you will, you will but you always fall off. Granted hes in the military and were not living together so i dont have him to push me and he loves me no matter and pushes me to accept me for who i am. but i cant.

so here i am, today was a food BUST, so tomorrow is my start day. So wish me luck and i cant wait to kick my husband in the ballz and finally tell him to SHUT UP and prove him wrong <3 <3

Hey ZombieLuvr!

I'm 21 and weigh about 162lbs. So we're kinda sorta in the same area. I'm just like you, I hate vegetables. But I can stand salads here and there, just not all the time. I'm not big on fruit either. My mom keeps telling me the only way I'll lose weight is by eating vegetables, but I'm going to prove her wrong. I started calorie counting awhile back and lost about 8lbs. Then I stopped. I didn't lose anymore weight, but I didn't gain any either. I just restarted this week and feel great. I eat between 1200-1500 calories a day. I've also been going to a gym to help get into shape and burn extra calories. I've learend I can still eat all the things I love, I just have to have smaller portion sizes and make sure I have room in my daily calorie allotment.

We're the same age and close in the goal range area, so hopefully we can motivate eachother. How are you going to go about losing weight? A certain diet, calorie counting, exercise? I've found this site is very helpful in keeping me on track. The motivation people give is also really great. I love the diarys too because you can talk about yourself the whole time and let's be honest, everyone needs a little "me" time everyday.

oh hiii!

its nice to hear from someone roughly the same as me :) im a picky eater when it comes to the healthy foods but of course when it comes to sweets i have no range, would explain all my cavities haha. i have joined gyms in the past but the first one my trainer didnt even really push me and my dad so we left i joined a cheaper gym but it was so out of the way i just stopped, excuses i know but i just couldnt get into the groove. i guess i rely on other people to keep me on track but thats really gotta change.

i hope we can motivate eachother too :D cause having someone going along the same somewhat rough path as you is always comforting you know? i started calorie counting awhile back and my limit i believe was 1600 but i couldnt keep up with that either (on the phone) but i found myself making little mental notes in my head was easier. Diet wise im trying to stay away from alot of starch cause i LOVE crackers/bread and really trying to stay away from sweets, biggest problem is chocolate :c so i bought some of those special k bars with the chocolate to help beat my cravings, and i am lowering my portion intakes and replacing bad foods with good foods (so hard!) My exercise are my 3mile walks/runs with my dog and at night i have different workout dvds as well as the fitness games for like the xbox kinect :)

Todays Weight: 155lbs

Goal: 120-130 and maintain for more than 5months

oooooooommmmmmmggggggg today was horrible :l i BSed on dinner freakin chinese but i totally downed the portions and i ate everything plain no sauces and i can win a little by working out right now (630pm)

Breakfast: meal replacement drink = 250

~bottle of water

Lunch: 2 string cheese/ meal replacement bar/ 6 ritz crackers = 440

Dinner: ummmm 1k?

for dinner i stayed away from the steamed rice QnQ tho i love it sooooo and i had a fortune cookie and now im chugging water and im still going to workout so hopefully i wont feel like a total pos when i go to sleep :p

Ah, don't be too hard on yourself. Once every two or three weeks I have to indulge in some chinese. I just try to improve everytime. Like now when I go, I limit myself to one plate and I eat slower so that I get fuller quicker. One day isn't the end. Tomorrow is a day!

thanks and your right it is just the first day, gotta slow and pace myself i cant jump right into it expecting results and perfection >n< thankies

Hi Zombie, welcome to the forum!!! I started here at 160 about 3 and a half months ago, I'm around 140ish now... aiming for 128lbs (58kg). You can absolutely get there, it's just being consistent that will get you there!! Who cares if you have one or 2 bad days a week if the rest of it is awesome? I usually end up having a higher calorie day once a week, not planned but if I get desperately hungry after I've finished my days cals, I'll eat something.

Good luck with your goals!!

thanks alot for the support! :D ive actually lost 3lbs, unless my scale is just being nice, but it says 3lbs from when i first posted :) ive totally changed my eating habits and was super awesome these past days, i even said 'no' to my weakness Ms. Ice Cream and Mr. French Fries when everyone else was eating them...i need to get back in the habit of working out in the morning but im such a bear haha oh well ill come around eventually

Yeah, getting into exercise was hard for me. Right now I have the motivation to exercise, but it's seeming like I just don't have enough time. Everyweek something gets in my way. I'm trying to keep to a 3 days a week regimen, but it's been getting screwed up every week!

Hope you're doing well!

You are not alone, I really don't like veggies either and I'm losing weight. I started at 220 so it totally can be done! I do like salads, because I can eat brocolli and carrots raw, but other than that there's not much. I pretty much only like corn and potatoes raw. If there are any you do like, try to get those in there more for your health than anything else. The biggest thing for weight loss is how many calories you eat vs how many you burn. It's totally possible for someone to eat nothing but veggies and gain weight or eat nothing but cookies and still lose, it's all a matter of how much.

I'd really encourage you to start counting your calories. First you'll have to figure out how much you should be eating, but we can help with that if you want. Then you'll know exactly where you should be and if you have an off week, you'll be able to look back and see why. Plus, I know for me, it helps me say no to things because I don't want to see that huge number at the end of the day.
