New 5x5 routine help

Sup guys, im fairly new to the bodybuilding world and was wanting help on a new routine for the summer where i have alot of time to workout. Ive been looking all over and theres 10 million different types of 5x5 routines. Is anyone on one now or know of one that produces good results? Thanks
 
Try Mark Rippetoes program for beginner lifters. Even though I wasn't a beginner it still helped me on my lifts for a month.

yes. jman, did you do riptoe strength and have gains even though you werent a beginner? i am planning on doing riptoe even thouhg i am not a newb.

Rippetoe helped me a bit; it helped me increase my squat a bit but thats about it. I wish I found the program though when I first started weight lifting. Right now I'm just doing a FBW 3x a week alternating 2 different workouts and its working out good.

For you proteinboy your probably better off not wasting your time with Rippetoes program. Or you could do it and add in chinups and dips.
 
yes. that is exactly what i was thinking of doing. im not going to add in any curls or 'direct arm work'. just chinups and dips. i think it will help. then i wil probably move into a bill star 5x5

Heres one I started doing. Do 5x5, 2 sets of warmups, and then the 5 sets are your working sets. If you get all 5x5 then add 5 pounds next workout.

For strength, take 3 minute break between each set. For Size, take 1 minute break between each set. For a mix of both, take 2 minute break between each set.
