Need some tips.

Hey everyone. I am a 16 year old who would love to put on about 30-40 pounds of muscle. Not bulky, but cut and ripped. The thing is, I participate in many running sports, such as track and Cross Country. Every summer I train 10+ miles a day to get in shape for the next season. Some people I have talked to have told me that I run way too much to gain any muscle whatsoever. Is this true? I would love to have the best of both worlds if at all possible. While I was running during the summer I did do 200+ pushups a day and I did start to get alittle tone, so maybe there is hope for me. Another thing is I have a reletively fast metabolism. I am 6 foot and way 150. Would I would love for my body is wider shoulders, pecks, abs, all of my back, all of arms, (not sure what they are called) the muscles under the under arm at the ribs, and the buns. Could y'all tell me some workouts for the muscles. And could y'all tell me some foods I need to eat. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thankyou for youe time.

if u r running 10 miles a day, even if it were possible to gain weight, you probably wouldn't have the energy (internally) to do any serious weight training. But, for arguements sake, lets say you do ... your still in rough shape. It is very hard to get the best of both worlds ... you shoudn't have much trouble getting toned (you probably are pretty toned if u r running that much), but getting big is another story. You need to eat a ton ... probably enough to put your parents out on the street trying to keep you fed. If you have an 'off-season' then there are a load of exercises that you can do to gain some size.
Barbell/Dumbell Bench (incline/decline/flat)
Military press
Dumbell Flys (side,45 degree, front)
Barbell/Dumbell Curls
Tricep Ext.
Tricep Pulldowns
Cable rows
... etc, etc ... do a search for routine and you will find a ton of routines posted by many of our frequent posters

Thanks for the link.:)
