Need Some Advice

Hey guys whatsup i need some serious help i want to lose weight. i have 8 hour h.s classes and dont really have the time to be going into a gym everyday as of right now im starting to play handball and chill with friends. i have tried losing weight before but failed because i cant control what my mom buys in the supermarket due to the fact that i have 3 other brothers and she dosnt want to spend more money then she already is and that leads to no dieting. eh im stuck in a difficult situation and i need some serious advice. im planning to buy weights at home and try some excersices that can help build muscle. and also recommend me some supplements for weight loss & i know some of you will post that it will ruin my body at my age but thats something im going to deal with.

- 17 Years Old
- Currently 214 Pounds
- Not sure about my fat %
- I worked out for 3 years but it was a on & off thing.

Before you start with supplements (which is the last place to start), you need to make some decisions. You say you dont have time to work out, but you have time to chill with your friends. At 17, unless you work a part time job after school, you have nothing but time on your hands.

Decide how much changing your weight means to you. Only you can decide on how much time and effort you want to put into this, and hey some is better then none, just remember your results will be based on your effort.

Basic tips to get you started. If you cant control what you eat, control how much and how often you etc it. If your portions are huge, cut them back and spread your meals out to 5-8 times a day, this will increase your metabolism.

Get a multivitamin.

Drink lots of water.

Workout. Free weights and cardio.

Do a few searches on the forum for types of workouts, etc.

Your fitness level is in your hands nobody elses.

couldn't have said it better, i use to be on pills as well, here a tip u won't hear that often, notice how the suppliment says "rapid weight lose" WEIGHT being the key word, not FAT, WEight, meaning that the pills also burn muscle at the same time, the reason people don't notice muscle lose is because
A) YES, muscle does weigh more than fat
B) Muscle is also dencer than fat so u won't notice it muscle lose as much as fat

3,500 calories equals to 1 lb of fat if u wish to burn 2lbs a fat every week
(2lbs of fat = 7000 calories) u need to burn 1000 calories a day. from the moment u wake up till the time u sleep, u burn calories; depending on how much u move and activities u do u burn more. even laughing and walking around with ur friends burns calories. but if ur not eating enough calories, then ur body starts to break down ur muscles for energy, which is exactly wut pills do, times 2. so if weights and running/gym get tiring for u trya nd be awesome at a sport, that with wut Scott_Free said about dividing ur meals, u should well on ur way. try it for a few weeks and if u stick to it, u well feel 1000000000x more healther and stronger than taking pills. u can easily get addict/dependant to pills and yes it f*cks up ur body. but i recommend u give the diet and excersie a try before the pills
