Need perspective and advice

I started working out in Dec and I've list 35lbs. My bf% was 19.5 and now it's 13.5. I'm really happy with how i feel and how I look with my shirt on. But I'm not to happy with the extra fat I have on my chest. I'm really self conscience about it. So first off honestly how bad is it or is it just me? Secondly I know to get where i want to be I need to bulk. But what would a clean bulk do to the fat on my chest? Would it get worse? If so Should I keep cutting till about oct when I won't have to take my shirt off? thanks for any advice in advance and please be honest thanks.

where did you get your 13.5% bf info? I'm not sure it's accurate.

But nonetheless! good job on the weight loss. I know how it feels.

Clean bulk would suggest that you gain little to no fat during your bulk. Now, since you will theoretically be gaining non-fat mass, you could also gain some fat and have the same bf%.
I think you should bulk, the extra size will help the fat spread (though maybe not noticably) and it'll be easier to cut later if you have a good foundation of strength/muscle. Either way, you'll need to cut again at some point to get rid of that fat.
Personally, it took me about a year to lose 55 lbs, because i spent parts of that year bulking so it'd be easier to cut later. I'd say after cutting from december to now it's time for a break.

How much do you weigh now?
I encourage you to check out this thread from the weight training forum. Even if you don't lift, (I can only assume you do otherwise it'd be ridiculous to have lost 35lbs. without lifting) there are very helpful links at the bottom of the first post. http://training.fitness.com/weight-...-split-maybe-read-first-34522.html#post304151

13.5 was from calipers at the gym, It may be a little higher now since I sold my house last month and the workouts weren't as regular. I'm at 156 right now I was 192 in dec. And yes I do lift 4 times a week. So Even though I'm not happy with the fat on my chest, you're saying I won't be happy until I put on some muscle and then cut again? On a clean bulk how much more fat do you think woild go on my chest?

I think it would stay more or less the same looking (from experience anyway, i ahve no idea as to how well you will clean bulk)

I gave you the link because the link contains lifting routines made by world classs trainers, and many (10x3, fat loss complexes, NROL) are specifically for the purpose of fat loss, and many specifically for the purpose of bulking. Doing the right lifting routine is 2nd only to your diet, and i believe it can make or break your goals. Check out the link.

I'm saying,
you'll be happy to get the fat off your chest->
the faster you get the fat off you chest the better->
if you bulk now, you will be better able to cut with better muscle foundation->
your cut will work quicker after bulking, and to top it off you'll have muscle underneath->
you will become happy.

just my opinion and experience.

Anyway, my link, and the links contained in the thread, very important for you to read them. A few minutes now will save you a long time later. If you need help choosing a program (whether you should decide to bulk as I've suggested, or simply continue the cut, it's really your choice, either way will eventually get the fat off your chest, I just tihnk if you bulk first it'd be better) I can certainly help as I've done many of them before.

I appreciate the advice. I took a look at the link. I'm going to read it closer tommorrow, but it looks like I shuld go with the Bill Starr 5X5. I could use some help with a bulking diet. Right now I'm in a 20% deficet, with 40% of that protein, 40 carbs and 20 fat. What would be good for a clean bulk? Any help would be good because i want to minimize the fat gain.
Would that workout be good for me? It looks like a simple approach only about 6 lifts. Also how long should I bulk? Thanks

bill start 5x5 is a good pick in my opinion. I'd read the nutrition link on the diet. I tihnk a good diet would be 40-30-30, and u'd probably just need a 300-500 surplus in cals. i'd start ramping up surplus as you get past week 4 on bill stars 5x5

I like the Bill starr workout it just seems strange to squat three days a week since i'm so used to splits. Where is the nutrition link?

good job bro.

The best advice I can give you is to do what you want to do the most (whether it be bulking or cutting I mean), that way you will be passionate about it and give it your all.

The best results will come from what you want most.

The main thing i want to do is get rid of the fat. But I don't want to be super skinny, so I guess it would be best to bulk for a little while.
