Need Isolated Arms/Shoulder workouts with Absolutely ZERO ab work.

Hello Everyone. Over the past 2.5 - 3 years I, through dieting and exercise lost 100 pounds. I completed a 3 month cycle of P90x at the end but was left with an over abundance of loose skin on my stomach. I mean a large large amount that just stayed flapped over despite being in excellent shape all around. Needless to say, after a year of mulling over it, I got a tummy tuck done to get rid of the skin. I couldn't be happier that now my full body transformation is complete the way it should have naturally.

I am 2 weeks post op and cannot full on exercise till end of March/beginning of April. My Surgeon did however tell me I can do some light arm/shoulder workouts that isolate the areas and dont require me to use my core at all.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to what Arm/Shoulder exercises I can do with dumbbells or anything that will be completely isolated and not involve my core/abs for a few weeks? I want to stay toned in the arms and not lose what I had worked on. Thank you.

I would suggest using bands.

I am not sure if you would be able to do any training with dumbells or any other way, you still use a great deal amount of your core even if you do not think you are.

Bands are great, just hook them up to a post or something in your house and you can do curls, internal and external rotations, different forms of a standing row.

Let me know if it is something you would be interested in. I can help you with some exercises

I would do dumbbell lifts with one hand and keep my other hand on my abs to make sure they are not flexing. The isolation machines also make good sense.

Thanks for all the replies! I'll be sure to check out some of the machines and ideas you've all given.

Danny, I do happen to have 3 sets of resistance bands which I used when I started p90x a while ago they have the door attachment as well. So yea. Idea specific ideas you'd have involving them I'd live to hear about.

Bands are the best i've found i use a JourneyGym. The bands are built into a portable suitcase.
