Hi everyone! Just found this forum and looking for some help! I'm a mommy of three little one! 2 yr old daughter and 1 yr old twin boys :) I am desperately trying to lose at least 20lbs, but would be more happy losing more! I'm getting married in June and it seems like NOTHING I am doing is helping! I've tried watching what I eat (counting calories, cutting out junk, to name a few). I've also been squeezing in work outs as often as possible; fiance was working 2 jobs, got laid of due to a broken leg, and getting ready to leave for 30 days to work!) So I don't have much free time! Except of course, nap time and bed time which get divided between working out/cleaning/sleeping! Andy tips on how some of you mommies lost your baby weight!

Hi Emily - wow three kids! They must keep you pretty busy! I have a five month old baby and I've been losing weight steadily this year by watching my cals (I eat 1200- 1800 cals a day, but keep it varied) and getting in exercise where I can.

How many cals have you been eating? For me, it doesn't work to go too high or two low. If I stray either side of my 1200 - 1800 limit, I find that the weightloss slows. I suppose over 1800 is too much for me to lose, and under 1200 slows down my metabolism.

I think the key is to just stick to your plan and keep going.

Also, as you have a specific event you want to lose weight for, you might try getting a wrap at a salon just beforehand. My friend did that to fit into her wedding dress. No good for long term weightloss, but quite a good fix for one day :)

Good luck! I also suggest joining one of the challenges in the Club Challenges section - I'm part of the biggest loser one and I find it helps keep me motivated...

Doing shakes and cleansing would help you, cause by cleansing it gets rid of the impurities that builds up in your fat cells.
using less calories would help, and change to eat healthier, like turkey, fish, chicken, fruits, vegetables, whole wheat bread, brown rice, and other whole wheat gains and exercise too.

Eating many regular but ‘smaller’ meals

Most people eat 3 main meals a day that are spaced out about 4 to 5 hours apart. As such, by the time they’re done with one meal and ready for the next, they’re pretty ravenous and this can often lead to overeating.

If you were to instead eat more ‘small’ meals throughout the day, you’ll find that you’re not exposed to this risk, and at the same time will give your body more time to metabolize the food and use up the energy that it gains from it.

Consume lots of water

Water is simply irreplaceable and you should be drinking at least a liter or two a day. More importantly though, for weight loss, consuming water is going to ensure that you don’t end up having hunger pangs, and overeating when it comes to meal time.

Never eat late at night

Wherever possible, try to ensure that your very last meal is at least a whole 4 hours before you go to sleep. That should allow your body ample time to use up the energy gained from it, so that there isn’t any excess energy to be stored as fat when you sleep.

Snack on fruits wherever possible

Occasionally we all crave a snack in between mealtimes, but if you can avoid fattening chocolate bars and sweets and instead much on an apple or orange, you’re going to find that you’re going to be cutting down on your calories a lot.

Each of these four habits will play an important role in your weight loss regime, if you start to foster them. Not only will you find that your calorie intake is reduced by cutting on overeating and high-calorie snacks, but you’ll also find that your newfound eating patterns allow your body to work through whatever calories you do consume in a more efficient manner.

End of the day, this will add up to a powerful edge in your efforts to lose weight, as you’ll quite literally be helping your body to properly make use of the energy it gains from food.

And that is something that is certainly worth acquiring these habits for!

Diets don’t work- Just eat Real Food
Eat foods that your body was designed to eat. That is foods that were around 100 years ago. Ditch those foods that have been processed. Stick to foods that are in their natural state…well as close to it as you can get. It doesn’t have to mean living off carrots and celery sticks. Sure you can still eat frozen goods like frozen vegetables and the convenience of canned goods but stay away from anything that has been chemically altered or processed. Stay away from anything with additives or chemicals in it. Focus on buying food items that have minimal additives, colorings or preservatives – the more natural it is the better it is for you. The less ingredients it contains, the better it is for you. If you can pronounce and know everything that is in that food product then it’s usually ok.
As a golden rule go for food that is natural, has no added sugar or sugar alternatives (including artificial sugars) is high in protein and fiber.
Get back to basics and fat loss will happen- permanently. Eat Real Food for Real Fat Loss
