Need help with Routine

Hey everyone, I'm just starting to lift weights in hopes to help lose a little weight and tone myself some. I currently weigh 198lbs and I'm 5.8'.
For about a week and a half now I've been doing a routine and I'm not sure if this is good enough to help me achieve my goal. This is my routine
50lbs
Curls: 2 sets of 10-15
Flat Benching: 2 sets of 20-25
Squats: 1-2 sets of 20
Bent over Rows: 2 sets of 20
I started off at 50 pounds but as I started reading more, since I could easily do each of them more than 10-15 of each exercise I upped my barbel to 60 pounds two days ago. I do this same routine just about every day, save some days I'm too tired and only do 1 set of each.

I only have access to a barbel and something to lay down on. Can anyone give me an idea of whether or not I'm going to see any results after a month or two. Can anyone give me any ideas? I will GREATLY appreciate any advice anyone will give me! Thanks in advance,

No, you probably won't see much results in 1 month, but you will in 2. Don't work out with weights everyday; you need at least 1 rest day for each muscle group, but you can do cardio and ab work everyday. Since you have limited equipment, consider doing bodyweight exercises: pushups, pullups, dips. I generally do 3 sets of 6 - 8 reps. And, why no cardio?
 
Well I don't know any kind of cardio I can do around my house ( i live with 3 other brothers and I'm a little over weight ) so I don't want to be stepping up and down and running in place to be made fun of, its a silly excuse I know.. but thats the whole reason I'm doing any of this is to better myself. I do do push-ups, can't do pull-ups because I have nothing I can do them on. I've tried dips but theres not a whole lot I can do them on that I can get a comfortable grip/balance on. Its a load of excuses I know I know, do you know of any cardio workouts that arn't so embarrassing to do?
 
Your chest and back exercises work your tri's and bi's secondary but I see you've added curls in your routine. So if I were you I'd do curls at the very end of your workout on one day and on your next session do something for tri's. You have nothing for shoulders either. How about a standing or sitting military press.

For cardio... do ANYTHING. Get outside and run, jump rope, walk at a fast pace.. ANYTHING.

But most importantly what does your diet look like because if you are eating crap your results will be crappy. List what you are eating on a typical day.
 
I've added Lunges today, that by far is the most difficult thing for me to do. I've been trying to build my stamina up so i can actually run for once. I have been riding my bike between 30-60mins, depending on how hot it is outside.
My diet... well you will probably laugh at me. When i get up i eat some cereal and hardly anything else throughout the day. I usually eat a sandwich or two around 7-8pm and i'm done for the day on eating. A few nights a week i eat a salad with tuna, light cheese and dressing... thats pretty much my diet. i have a low budget to go on with food. what should i try to start eating to help better my diet? thanks in advance,

You need to re-evaluate your diet first and foremost or you won't see any results I hate to tell ya.

5-6 small meals a day consisting of a protein, carb and good fats.

Spend some time in the "nutrition" section of this forum getting ideas of what you can eat. Let us know what you come up with.
 
Dang... Like i said i have a limited budget. I can't afford to spend money on special bars and a lot of the stuff theyre listing in that forum. aside from that i dont eat any kind of fish nor, steak. Milk, eggs, peanut butter, some veggies, tuna, and some fruits. All depending on what my parents buy. i guess im fighting a losing battle with this... I can eat the things that i list but probably not every day.. should i give up what im doing since i cannot do he proper diet for this? or will i not see ANY result at all

No, don't give up what you are doing. The things that you listed are fine. (eggs, wheat toast, fruit, vegtables, 2% cottage cheese, chicken, turkey) You do not need any special bars. Whey protein would be nice though- but not manditory. Just eat as much whole foods as you can. The more protein the better. Just eat several times a day or your body with think that you are starving and will hold on to the fat with a tight grip.
 
oh okay, phew lol. i want to lose my man boobs so bad... its not so much that i want to become ripped or anything like that, just a bit more fit. my goal is 180-185 in weight and not have man titties lol. i went to the store today and got some vitamins, though i was kinda downed that these have no protein in them, but oh-well. anyways, thanks a lot for the information you have given me and the time you've taken to write me back. I also dont want to spend money on tons of supplements, using fitday.com and adding alot of custom foods (so you know the #'s are accurate) I was able to get a better understanding of where my diet was and where i needed to take it. Best part, fitday.com is free.
 
First, don't give up! Whatever you do is better than what you had been doing. I certainly don't do everything right, but I do more things right than not right.

Second, I am no fan of vitamins. I think most of the stuff you need is in your foods.

Third, keep doing the cycling.

There are 3 sides to the fitness triangle: cardio, resistance (weight) training, and diet. Neglect any of them and it is very difficult for the other two to compensate. You are on track to get all three in order.
