Need help for a fitness contest!

My work is sponsoring a fitness contest and one event is based on running 2 miles. We have been given the option to ride a bicycle, but only if we can show some scientific way of finding the equivalent distance on a bicycle. So if we have to run 2 miles in 16 minutes, how many miles would we need to bike? Please post any links that would verify this, thanks!!
 
How are you comparing the two? Do you mean comparable by calories burned or by the amount of physical exertion. They work completely different muscles, im not sure there is any way to compare the two. It's apples and oranges.
 
I'm not sure either. I suppose I could compare calories burned. Would there be a way to test physical exertion? Thanks for your reply.
 
Yeah but you would have to run the 2 miles first and punch in numbers into a formula and do teh same with teh bike. Just run.
