Need all the support I can get!

Isn't running a great way to melt away the fat? That's so good that you can run that much and that well. I think it's shaping even to the tummy. I should run more. Last time I ran 3 miles in 38 minutes. I was happy! That left me time for stretches and abs and I only had to pay for one hour of Kidwatch at the gym. (The bottom line for a good workout- lol!)

Anyhow, I'm glad you like this forum! It sure has helped me a lot!

Great job! I've been running a little too, and I hope I can keep it up. Doesn't success feel great? Keep going, there's more to come!

Well done with the running you are doing great. Don't worry about the slip-up because thats all it is and i know u are back on track and doing well. Have a great day!!!

YAY!!!!! Congrats.. On the 3lbs... Kepp going.. Great job on the run and doing your yoga. Have a WONDERFUL Day and drink your WATER:p

Well, I guess you sure showed that scale!!! ;)

You have made me want to workout today. (How???)

Keep going, lady. :p

I hope you don't mind me asking and I won't mind if you don't want to answer as it's a fairly personal question but do you find running easier now that you've lost weight?

I've been trying to get into running for a few weeks now but all I can seem to manage is a jog. I wondered if perhaps I was just carrying too much beef to be able to run. :D

To be honest...it is MUCH harder to run when I am heavy...and I still am, but for some reason I can do it now and am enjoying it. It does help melt the pounds even faster as long as you stick with it. BUt i used to run a 8 to 9 minute mile, and as you can read from my posts I am doing about 12 minutes (which some may quantify as a jog;) who cares anyway...it's still faster than a walk!!). I figure when I am thinner I can shave the time off, right now I am just trying to increase my time out and my distance. I CANNOT run on a treamill....the thought makes me want to pour vinegar on an open cut...YYYUUUCCCKKK!!!! My best advice is to find a route you enjoy to walk, then just start walking then add some running in once you feel good and warmed up. Run a couple minutes at a time, with walking in between. Each time you go out challenge yourself to go to one more tree, or one more driveway, or one more lamp post even if that means picking up the pace just to make it there a little faster. Pretty soon you can start adding each section together to make one long run. I have this hill in town, oh it's a bugger, about 45 to 50 degree plus incline and about 500ft long...I am bound and determined to run the whole darn thing, and I have made it about 3/4 of the way up, but man it kicks my A** every time. Not everyone loves running, you just have to give it time to grow on you and you will love what it does for you. I swear it works your abs, legs, butt, calves....just come home and do some push ups and your good to go. Hope this helps...don't be afraid to ask more questions...thats why I am here to help.... and get help!!!!!

Oh I guess I need to post for myself today...TOM eating has been trying to get the best of me, ugh. I have been staying below 1600, which is a little higher than I like, But I figure I will push my workouts to over an hour and maybe I can at least maintain...for the next few days. It only lasts about 4 dyas and then it too shall pass and my craving should be better. I am trying to not give in to each one, eating fruit and drinking water instead. Had a quick lunch of fruit as I had to take my little one to the dr's. She was bitten by my brothers cat yesterday...the little stinker keeps teasing the cat...and today it looks as though she has cellulitis in her foot where she was bitten. So by time dinner came and i made it home I was STARVING! Made apple reubens, with whole grain rye bread, swiss cheese and 2 tbls of thousand island dressing. Well, I ate one, then half of another...uugghh! A little broccolli and a 1/3 of a cup of couscous. Right now I am fighting my TOM ice cream craving...my husband is eating now! Deep breating, visualizations and postive thinking......yeah I'm the nutty one!
Oh yeah Worked out for 45 minutes this AM, just power walked...afraid if I run everyday I will get sick of it !!! So tomorrrow I am running a hilly country road, about 3.5 miles...hoping I do well!

Hey 45 minutes of power walking is great!!! Good luck with your run, you'll do great!!!

Keep up the great work!:D

So headed out for my run. Took me about 60 minutes so I thought, I should really drive it to see how far it is. It was 4.5 miles!!!! SO I ran about 2.5 of them and walked the other 2. Not to shabby as it was VERY HILLY!! Good workout though!

Fantastic job! Stay strong through the TOM. You are doing so well and inspiring me to keep positive. The running is something you should be very proud of. Keep up with your water!!

Running is running, don't sell yourself short, you go girl! I walk/jog/run too, and I alternate. I call it "running" but really it's a repeating pattern of jog, sprint, walk (sprints are only 30 seconds, I just want to push myself). So be proud of doing it, you're doing something really great for yourself!

running

I like to say there is no excuse for running unless something big is chasing you! :D

No, really, good job with the running. I wish I could. Maybe when I lose about 50 pounds it won't hurt my knee so bad.

You're doing so great with your running (I can run 5mph for 10mins then I whizz off the end of the treadmil). After your TOM I'll bet you feel great (I usually feel much less bloated etc). Have a nice day tomorrow!:)

Well, I posted to a few other people yesterday, but never for myself. Ate 1325 cals yesterday. Worked out for about 30 minutes with my crunch bootcamp video. So had a basic day. We are leaviing today to go camping for 2 nights at our fav campground about 40 minutes from our house. This is the first time my littlest has been camping anywhere except our backyard :) ! So she is very excited! Last summer, when we were there for a picnic, a little boy drown in the lake and my husband helped bring him out...my 5 year old still remembers and is a little nervous. I think this will be a little cathartic for all of us as we have not gone back since the incident and had a tough time dealing with it for many months. Norah was terrified of drowning all last summer, but the effects are slowly wearing off and I think she is ready to have at it again!
We are bringing very healthy foods except smores:eek: . But mostly veggie stew, veggie dogs, low carb cereal and yogurt and sandwiches with whole grain bread, fruits for snack, and lots of WATER!!! SO hopefully this will be a healthful couple of days. I am planning to run tomorrow am there around the campgrounds and lake while my hubbie and kids ride bikes. Should be fun! I will post when I return, so I hope everyone keeps up the good work and THINKS POSITIVE!!!!!
Thanks for you encouragement Crunchie, TwinMom, missprincess, favouritecrayon and of course everyone that posts...you guys are the BEST!!!!!

Oh wow- camping sounds fun! It sounds like you are going to have an extremely healthy weekend- with the good food and fresh air, I'm sure you'll get plenty of exercise in without even trying. Have fun! and keep up the good work!

I hope your camping trip is an enjoyable and healthy experience for everyone. It's good for your little girl to replace scary memories with happy ones. S'mores won't kill ya, so just make sure you eat two bites of veggies for every bite of s'more! Have a great time!
