I have a system that I use. Psychologically, we all know it is good to reward ourself when we do good on our diets or whatever weight loss program/fitness routine we are on at the time.
When we focus only on the weight, we obsess over it and wear ourselves out frequently as I am guilty of this.
My technique is that for every day you stick to your routine, you get one point.
When you reach one of your small goals, that day you will get ten points, plus your daily goal (1 point) which would be 11 points.
Now, I have made a list of small rewards I reward myself with when I am ready to do so or have enough points. For example, bracelets are 5 points a piece. If I were to exchange 5 points of mine for a bracelet as a reward, I would have to subtract 5 points of my overall points. Its kind of like chucky cheese, exchanging points for rewards
Bigger points, such as shopping, would be saaay, 30-40 points for me depending on how big of a trip it would be.
You can modify this any way you want, but you get the overall idea. It keeps your focus on rewards and rewarding yourself as opposed to just getting 'skinny'
