My weight loss strategy I'd like to share with others

I have a system that I use. Psychologically, we all know it is good to reward ourself when we do good on our diets or whatever weight loss program/fitness routine we are on at the time.
When we focus only on the weight, we obsess over it and wear ourselves out frequently as I am guilty of this.
My technique is that for every day you stick to your routine, you get one point.
When you reach one of your small goals, that day you will get ten points, plus your daily goal (1 point) which would be 11 points.
Now, I have made a list of small rewards I reward myself with when I am ready to do so or have enough points. For example, bracelets are 5 points a piece. If I were to exchange 5 points of mine for a bracelet as a reward, I would have to subtract 5 points of my overall points. Its kind of like chucky cheese, exchanging points for rewards :D
Bigger points, such as shopping, would be saaay, 30-40 points for me depending on how big of a trip it would be.
You can modify this any way you want, but you get the overall idea. It keeps your focus on rewards and rewarding yourself as opposed to just getting 'skinny'

That's an amazing idea. I don't like subtracting, though. Punishing yourself for being human is counterproductive. You'll end up focusing on your lack of will power more, instead of thinking about earning a point the next day.
Maybe, if you take away a point for two days off?

I don't really like it to be honest. Since losing the weight and then maintaining it is an ongoing process and should be a lifestyle change that eventually becomes routine, I don't feel that 'rewarding myself' for every little bit would work.

I do have something in mind that I would like to do once I reach my 'goal weight', but that is about it as far as I am concerned.

My other 'rewards' are watching the numbers go down and feeling/looking better, that's plenty for me. :)

When you are teaching animals tricks or good behavior, rewarding them each time is the best way to get the behavior engrained. Same thing here. We ARE animals, afterall. :)
