My weight loss/exercise journal

TodayI dragged the treadmill out of the garage and put it in my bedroom. Here are my treadmill stats:

20 min
.93 miles
2.5 mph-3.01 mph
h/r 100 bmp
start weight 188 lbs
height: 5'1

I drank only one pop so far today and I'm drinking crystal light.


Did not eat breakfast, but for lunch I had a small piece of roast beef. That's it, nothing else.

It's a start.

Great that you're keeping the soda to a minimum, that's a step in the right direction! Make sure you get plenty of water too.

Hmmm.. but too few calories, You must eat! (I know it sounds weird that you have to eat to loose weight... ;)) Have you looked into fitday.com or sparkpeople.com - they have tools that will help you figure out how many calories you are eating (and should be eating)

Do have a weight loss plan?

My problem is that I don't eat like I should. I can go all day without eating, and I know that's not good. I don't eat sweets, candy, ice cream, cake, etc at all. Food is not my enemy...pop is...lol..

I normally wouldn't eat until dinner, so, eating that small piece of roast beef was a start. I know I will need to eat healthier and more than once a day.

Today, I got up around 9 am and I have running around to do until 1 pm every day. I don't even think about eating at 9 am. Once I get going, I plan to change all that.

No, I don't have a weight loss plan. I am thinking if I cut the pop out totally, exercise each day, and I know exercise will make me hungry, so then hopefully, I will start eating.
 
Today I had a sandwich with 2 thin slices of polish ham and a tomato for lunch. For dinner, I smoked some ribs, and ate only 2 ribs and had a bit of potato salad.

So far, I've only drank 1 pop today, and have been drinking Crystal light all day long, and lots of it. I have a glass with me at all times.

I walked a mile today on the treadmill. I have some blisters on my feet from ezcema and walking was not a thrill today, but I did it. Had my headphones blasting and just got into the music. Sure toward the end I was feeling it, but I think I did ok.


Hubby made me a chart and took "before" pictures and he weighed me in. OMG...I wanted to keep that a secret!

If you're serious about losing weight, you really need to look at what you're eating, how much and how often.

You mentioned that you "know that's not good" in terms of eating, but do you know how bad it really is?

Your body *needs* fuel to run properly. You've got lungs, kidneys, muscles, a brain, internal organs et. al. that NEEDS nutrition. If you don't feed it properly, it won't 'live off the fat of the land'. It WILL live off your muscles. Your heart IS a muscle.

Your body will think it's starving and your metabolism will shut down and you will not burn calories efficiently.

I'm sure that's not what you want.

You didn't mention if you drank diet soda or regular soda, but studies have shown that diet soda impairs your ability to regulate hunger. Prevention Magazine has an article that showed a *marked* increase in weight gain in diet soda drinkers.

I definitely recommend checking out or Both are free sites where you can log your calories and get a better idea of your over all nutrition.

This is about more then just losing weight - it is about getting fit and *healthy* and the only way to do that is to educate yourself on portions and nutrition now, while you're losing weight, so that you don't re-gain the weight after you "go off the diet".

I know not eating is bad for me, but just like some people need to eat less, it will take awhile for me to change my eating habits.
I will start taking a multi-vitamin every day. And, I'm eating lunch now. That's a start.

Today, I ate some pulled pork that I smoked last night. I had that for lunch. For dinner, I made a huge salad and ate almost all of it. I had one pop this morning, but have been drinking Crystal light all day.

I walked a mile today, and I picked up the pace. I walked it in less time than I did yesterday. I'm short, only 5'1, so my step isn't as wide as most. I was walking at a very good clip, enough to break a sweat. I think that's good.

I bought a diet pop today and it sits in the fridge. I may drink that tonight, instead of a regular pop. Never did like the taste of diet, but since it has no calories, no fat, no carbs, etc. I may substitute it for a regular soda.

I think I am doing good. I am eating more than I normally do, and am drinking wayyyyyyyy less pop than I normally do.

My husband took the scale away and said to only weigh myself once a week. Grrr.... Oh, well, he's running the show, so I guess I'll follow his rules.:eek:

I did check out fitday and sparkle. Wow, that's a lot of food! I will have to work up to it, I think. I haven't ever drank diet pop, to answer your question. I know my metabolism is all jacked up----I'm working on fixing that.

i AM WORKING ON THIS HUN IT IS BEING CONTRARY BUT I WILL GET IT OR GET SEAN TO FIX IT FOR YA! kEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
 
I just finished my mile walk on the treadmill today. I walked it in 21:46. My time has gotten better each day. I only drank half a can of pop last night, so my total pop intake for yesterday was 1 1/2 cans.

Made potato soup for dinner had one bowl. I think I forgot to eat lunch today. I may remember eating later and will post what I ate, if anything.

I bought some more Crystal light at the store today. Guess that's going to be my drink of choice.

I just remembered I ate a few slices of roast beef that I got at the deli for sandwiches around 3:00 today. Mmmm..it was good!

Later on in the evening I had a sm. bowl of grapes and two more slices of roast beef. Did a lot of walking at the grocery store earlier.
