My tailbone keeps me from doing some of the exercises!

It digs into the floor and hurts so bad I can't do some of the exercises that have you like .. balancing on your tailbone almost.. I don't know if I should attempt it anyway even though it hurts like crap! Or use a mat? Or just don't do it since even on a mat I can still feel pain in my tailbone when I do those particular moves!

what do you think?

What are you doing that you have to balance on your tailbone?

I had the same problem when i first started its better now though (for sit ups), dono it just kinda fixed itself. Doesn't hurt anymore. Find a soft surface for now, a soft mat or pillows or something. However, needs to be something that keeps the whole body flat for form, in the case of situps.

oh okay.
and the exercise that you have to like balance on your tailbone? I don't know what its called exactly, but you have your legs together and up at a 45 degree angle and your upper body at a 45 degree angle and your arms reaching up toward your toes like a V shape kinda.. don't know how to explain it really!

Its called the V ups

you should'nt be doing it on your tail bone
you supposed to be balancing somewhere below the tail bone pref on the flesh side of ur ass
try experimenting to get into a comfortable position

you re tail bone is sensitive n surrounded by large no of nerves
thats prob causing the tingling feeling

HAHA!!

"the flesh side of my ASS! " LMFAO!! :)

hahaha!

Okay I'm being really silly this morning anyway and that just made me laugh the flesh side of my ass OFF dude!!

Yeah, I know its not supposed to be like ON the tailbone, I just don't really have that much flesh on my ass yet so maybe that might be stopping me a bit. I got my mother's no-but syndrome :(

i had your exact problem! get a math and lie on, i did them on the side of my ass for a long time:p i dont have the problem any more of that magnitude, so i guess it fades with time:p

:D :D :p
you see sometimes you dont have the proper anatomical terms to describe some things

any ways your best option is to do it on a thick cushioned mat or something like it

It is possible to do this exercise without sitting on your tail bone (coccix). When sitting you rest on 3 points the tailbone and the two sides of your ilium. Its possible to rock slightly forward onto just the ilium - takes a bit more core strength to hold in this position though!

Give it a try and get back to me!
