My progress 260 - 188 (4yrs)

I thought I'd try and be brave enough to post some before/after pictures.

I was 253 at my highest weight, probably 260 or so because I wasn't exactly eager to step on the scale in those days. I worked out and changed diet and got down to 190 in about 8-12 months. I then relaxed somewhat and my weight drifted back tup to 225. Still not 'bad' but I didn't like the direction so I redoubled my efforts and entered a HM in 2012. I sucessfully completed it and then signed up for another one at the end of the year. It kicked my butt (very hilly) so never afraid of a challenge I signed up for a full 26.2 which I completed Marc 2013. Go me! I think I was running 40-50 mpw and eating a lot, probably 3,000 calories a day but the weight dropped off at a reasonable pace, about 5-8lbs a month.

I'm 6'0 if anyone wondered.

So heres the pics - excuse Granny, she loves me regardless of poundage :)

Hi Iain! :)

I believe I've seen you on the forums in the past, but I just wanted to congratulate you on your AMAZING progress!

Your pictures look fantastic, and congrats on the half-marathon!! That's so awesome! :)

I'm thinking of doing one someday! You're an inspiration to us all :)

Great job!

Thanks Frogged. I used to frequent this board a few years ago when I was dropping weight from 260.

I always loved the before/after pictures, they are so inspiring to see how people changed. Even if there seems to be a lot more women than men.

I still have a poor body image although it is improving,. I suppose so many years of being 'the fat one' takes it's toll on the psyche.

Hopefully my couple of pictures can encourage one or two other people to stick with it.
