My journey!!

So today is the first day of my new lifestyle. I am looking forward to focusing on my health and fitness - and then of course to reap the benefits of weight loss along the way!

I am a Mum and a full time student so don't end up with a lot of time to exercise - I've had gym memberships in the past the have just gone to waste. So now I am focussing more on what I'm putting in - and grabbing time for a jog or whatever any chance I get.

I have brought myself a couple of books that were on sale - one is a '21 day wonder diet' and the other is about the health benefits of fresh juices. I am going to follow all the recipes of the '21 day' book so that I have something to plan against as well as increasing my confidence for cooking healthy meals. They all look so yummy!

I know that this journey is about me increasing my abilities in the kitchen as well as kicking my 'easy way out' mentality when it comes to food and cooking.

My goal is to lose 20kg over 6 months by calorie counting - 1200-1400 calories a day.

But for this week my mini goal is to have a lose on the scales so I show myself I can do it - I feel like no matter what I've done over the last year I just can't manage to get a lose on those scales!

Wish me luck!!

Well day one is officially coming to an end - I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't do much exercise wise - but I'm home today with a sick kid so hopefully that will be better when I'm back into my normal routine tomorrow.

Breakfast: one pouched egg and a slice of rye.
Lunch: mountain bread wrap with salas.
Dinner: lasagna and salad - hubby's favorite because he has had a hard day at work - I'll have mostly salad ;-)
Water: 2litres
Exercise: none.

I'll work out the calories later ;-)

I have low joule jelly with fruit in it in the fridge for dessert - but I never have any of that anyway - have decided that I'm making healthier desserts for everyone else so I'm not tempted and if I am it's not so bad. They don't need the extra sugar anyway!!

Sounds like you are making a good effort with your plan. Believe me with a sick kid and going to school you are getting some walking exercise in. So keep pressing for your goal and you will get there. Your food choices are more healthier so that is good for the whole family.

Good luck to you!

AI'm back again - and I'm pregnant! I'm really excited about adding to my little family but am also very conscious of not adding too much to my weight.

Going to take my weight and measurements this morning.

I know that I'll out weight on during my pregnancy - but I also know that if I am working of building muscle mass then the bounce back after bubs is born will be easier.

I'm not going to push myself - or even really focus on losing weight or cms - I'm focusing on exercising regularly and eating very well. It's more about learning to maintain that regular effort so that I can keep my good habits afterwards.

I have a healthy, weight loss cookbook that I'm going follow for the family - I've got my treadmill set up again and have been walking (sometimes jogging) for an hour a day on most days. Starting weight training at the gym tomorrow - will be doing circuits 3 days a week also.

Bring it on!!
