My Journey to a Slimmer Me :) Start; August 23rd, 2011

obviously no HUGE difference (only been 8 days lol), but I am less bloated due to not eating like a man woman!!!!!!!!!!!!! doing lots of crunches!!! so hopefully in a couple months I see a big difference :hurray: (dirty mirror...i know ewww :ack2:)

thats really good :) it really is funny how it works, you let yourself have things that you would normally say are off limits and eat them less when you CAN have em. I'm glad it works that way lol

The other day I had a can of coke. I wanted one, I had it, so I took it from the fridge.

I only ended up drinking not even half the can. Turns out I don't like it as much as I used to. It's the same thing with all the bad food I used to eat. I could eat it, yet, I find the healthy options not only more filling, but better on my system.

It's funny how these things work.

AHey! No Popsicle holding this time? You should make it your trademark!

Keep it up :D, you'll see a difference in time. For me, it took a month, but I definitely feel slimmer along my sides.

AOh, no, well...My highest weight was 257 (give or take) back in 2009. I tried to diet, it went downhill fast. I came back here last month, after a month of my new diet. If you count my highest weight being 257 I've lost 20lb. This time I'm just keeping track since August 16th, so I've lost 12lb.

Here's my journal, that's where most of us talk about what we're doing, and our day-to-day rants: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/t/32050/taking-back-control-a-diary I have a picture from 2009, and then new pictures from last month (after I lost 10lb from 249).

I WAS down to 234 but went up, hoping it goes back down...I'm trying even harder this month. I want to reach 229 by September 16th.

you can see a difference for sure! good job! it sure take a lot of time and dedication to lose weight...we go this =D I just know that life is too short to be in the body I am in...i want to look how i feel inside, and I feel awesome so i wanna look awesome ;0)

You look great now ! Keep it up,and I think with weight loss you're going to look incredible! You have a really nice face and features.

I have the same problem with late night eating. There's actually a term for it, noctural eating syndrome or something. What I find helps me is sometimes I try to go to bed earlier than I normally would, it gives me less boredom and I'm less tempted to eat. Also, its important not to deprive yourself of the things you love. This is a healthy lifestyle, so eat the bad things, but in moderation. Maybe once a week while you're losing week. Pick a day maybe once a week where you can eat more unhealthy (within reason).

Also I feel its very important to take up weight training of some sort. This will keep you toned as you lose the weight. Either way, I wish you the best ! And keep it up.

thank you very much :) i have been smaller, after i lost a bunch of weight years ago but never appreciated it because i was with an asshole who put me down and plus i still had a bad self image...but now that i am older and in the right mindset (and not with the douche bag lol), when I get to goal I am going to be very proud and i will rock my new bod ;)

thank ya! :hurray: Lately it has been so much easier refraining from the late night eating and if i do it's a very light snack. It's because I am not telling myself 'no'...i'm telling myself 'go ahead, if you want' and it seems to work. Crazy right? when we know we can have that cake or candy or what not we often do not end up giving in.

I have been using 10lb weights and working out my legs, arms and abs (baby steps)...i plan to get a treadmill soon too, so then I will get cardio in! it's nice to see definition even if i am not at goal yet =D

Hi jamieliberty, I personally think it is a good idea you have decided to share your challenge with us. That way, you will have positive pressure to live up to expectation. One thing I would advise is that you try some simple weight training as well since that one can also help you a lot. It help me a lot and I think it will do same for you. And one more thing, try to work out your whole body and not only certain sections as this also eventually help.

keep keeping us up to date with your progress and we will give you our support.

All the best

I wish you the best of luck Jamie. It's a long and difficult process (I'm a year into my own ordeal..down around 56 pounds so I'm doing something right!) but it's one that's so worth it in the long run.

AClean mirror? :D

I like your bra!

Other than that, keep it up, girl, you'll see progress soon enough. I need to get myself some weights or something lol.

Soooo after much thinking I am going to re try Weight Watchers so I can fully be accountable for the amount of calories I am putting in my body while also not 'denying' myself any food. Not that denying my self fatty foods is a bad idea, but it's reality that these type of foods are always around and cannot ALWAYS be avoided, plus everything in moderation is ok to consume, imo.

ANight time eating is what did me in as well, I used to have biscuits, cake or a humongous bowl of cereal. I still do feel the need to eat at night, but I gorge myself on a stupid amount of fruit. Although I have found recently I am actually eating less fruit than I used to. I have lost almost 3 stone now (about 1.5 to go), and if I can break the habit then you can too! I think that eating at night is a way of relaxing and treating yourself after a long day, and that the problem is psychological... you think you need it, but really you don't. I'm banning you from having anything else other than fruit after dinner. Yep, you heard me, you are BANNED!

You should start a diet diary on here x
