My intro and how I lost 125lbs...

I have been a long time lurker just figured I would sign up today..... Found alot of articles on the site very interesting and very helpful.....

onto myself here... Almost exactly one year ago I was 299lbs... as soon as I got out of highschool and stopped playing hockey and pretty much was careless I became quickly obese... Over the past year I have gotten back into my work outs and I have quickly got back down to 175lbs.... I only lost the weight to play college hockey as I really miss organized hockey over the past 2 years :(.... But here are some before and after pics......

Im pretty much here now to see about muscle building techniques as I am a ice hockey goalie.. so its kind of different I have to be able to maintain flexibility while also building strength/muscle!

Wow that's some weight you lost. Care to share the routines/exercise regime or diet you used?

my workout over the past year has been realy progressive.. it started off just trying to lose 20-30lbs.. into what it is today... I didnt try to go through and try to bit the entire bullet Ive seen too many people try to get into weight loss really hard at first and fail because they over do themselves..

I first started off with 30 mins at the gym on the olyptical going to the gym every other day doing nothing but cardio...... this progressed into running... I started endurance running and getting my heart rate up to a decent amount to that point I would run and run and run Im at the point where im at 5 miles or more per day I try to run a good 25+ miles a week. I also try to get a good 3 days a weke on the ice.....

As far as dieting they absolute most important part to any diet is WATER! I would try to drink anywhere from 1+ gallon of water per day... nothing else... I stopped with all fast food and immediately went and ate alot of vegtables and protein.. Iw ould eat a small amount of carbs and I ate 5-6 small meals a day due to it digesting quicker....
 
Man, I thought me losing 45 lbs was something, but you, you took it to a completely different level. Awesome job man, repped, and your a great inspiration for others out there looking to lose weight.

Now bulk up and gain some lean mass!
