My "I Need To Lose 10 Pounds" Diary

Well, it's time to really buckle down and lose these 10 lbs...

So now for some motivation purposes, here are some before and after pictures....

This first photo is me in 2005 at my heaviest. About 160 here. I am the one sitting down in the black tube top...

I have to have my husband take a picture of me now. Honestly, I think I look the same. Maybe less toned but whatever 10 pounds does, that's what I look like.

So tomorrow is Sunday December 27th. It's the beginning of a new week. I am going to haul ass to the gym and get my butt into shape! Now people say "You can start in the new year." Nah, I am not because of I keep postponing my plans, it will never happen.

So as of tomorrow, my 10 lbs are coming offfff!!!!!!!!

My goal is to lose 10 lbs by the end of January. Why the end of January? Because I have a wedding to attend and I want to look fantastic.
 
Okay, today didn't go as planned...

However, I am setting goals for this week.

I plan to work out at least three times this week.
I plan to eat well. Low carb- high protein.
I plan to record my progress in my journal!
 
Wow...you look Fantastic in your before and after there!..You can definitely loose the 10lbs!...I'd love to be 125 lbs! How long did it take you to loose the weight the first time? :D!

The first time took me four months to lose the weight. I went from 160 to 130 from May 2005 and was 130 by September 2005. The 125 happened later on. It took alot of dedication but I did it! Seriously, if I could do it- anyone can!

Well, I had planned to work out yesterday but my poor chihuahua got sick. He is only a year old and ended up eating something that did not agree with him. So, I had to keep an eye on him all day per vets orders. So no work out for me. I did not eat that great too. I had a Cuban sandwich for dinner and a peice of flan.

Today on December 29th was a good day. Did not work out BUT have followed my healthy eating plan.

Had eggwhites on a multigrain bagel for breakfast.
Tomato salad for lunch.
Grilled chicken for dinner.

And for desert- I just had miniature candy (1 butterfinger, 1 3 musketeer and a milky way.) They are the really mini ones. The ones that look like half of a mini candy bar. So that was my tiny sweet of the day. When I lost weight the first time, I always ate wholesome lean foods during the day and would have a tiny treat after dinner- always helps curb my appetite!

I come to conclusion that my work outs are starting on January 1st. It's just easier to start the new year fresh. At least I started the "eating well" thing early though. That's always the toughest thing to do in my opinion.
 
Today was a busy busy day. Ran around like a lunatic completing my New Years Eve outfit. So excited.

Anyways, today I ate healthy.

I woke up late- so no breakfast. Had coffee with skim milk.

Lunch was a plate of mixed veggies.

Dinner I had some black beans and shredded meat. SO good.

I could have eaten more but I was literally running aroung like crazy. Had to look for a dress. Went to the shoe store- TWICE. Dropped off my husband to pick up his car and went to Petco to buy stuff for my dog. It was a day of non stop errands.

Tomorrow, I am not behaving because I am going to a gala at the country club. I will be stuffing my face and drinking all night. Hey, it's New Years. It's allowed!
 
Happy new years everyone! Hubby and I had a fantastic time at the gala. We ate lots of seafood- not so bad but still- CHOLESTEROL! Here is a pic of me that evening... This is my "this is me now" picture...

Anyways, it was fun. Yesterday I drove to the gym to fulfill my 2010 promise and they were closed! So, it meant today was my first day of the year to workout. And I did! It felt fantastic!

I did a half hour of cardio. 15 minutes on the stairclimber and 15 minutes on the elliptical. Total calories burned- 300.

Did arms today. Tricep dips. 3 reps of 30 at 20 and 35 lbs.
Overhead arm press. 3 reps of 10 at 10 pounds.
And curls. 3 reps of 30 at 20 and 30 pounds.

Next time I hit the gym will be on Monday.

And today starts the calorie counting!

As far as eating goes, I have had so far today 3 eggwhites with fat free feta and 4 strips of turkey bacon. Cup of coffee with 1% milk. 297 Calories.
I had two teaspoonfuls of natural peanut butter. 180 Calories.
A handful of cashews. 180 Calories.
For dinner, I had leftovers- the shredded beef with veggies and black beans. Glass of organic cranberry juice. 763 Calories.
Cofee. 32 Calories.
Went to the movies and had like 10 tortilla chips without cheese. This is approx 138 calories. Also had another coffee- but did not finish it because it tasted like crap. So I'll leave that one out.

TOTAL CALS: 1590

Today is a lazy Sunday with a day off from the gym.

For breakfast, I had 1 cup of Cheerios with a cup of 1% milk. 200 calories.
Cup of coffee. 30 calories.
For lunch, had a salad with lettuce, feta and northern italian LIGHT dressing plus a 1/4 cup of cashews. 335 calories.
Dinner I had shirataki noodles (GREAT alternative to pasta because there are very little carbs and this is 40 calories for 8 oz!) with arrabiata sauce and 2 pork sausages. 640 calories. I can't believe ONE sausage has 230 CALS!!!!!!
Cup of cranberry juice. 70 calories.
Coffee. 30 calories.
Well, I kinda effed up and had 3 more handfuls of cashews. A whopping 540 calories.

Total for the day so far: 1845

I really did not want to go over 1500. Because of this, this means an hour of cardio tomorrow!

Today is WEIGH IN MONDAY!

I am 132!!!!!!!! I lost 3 pounds!!!!!!! I can't believe it! :hurray: I will be back later to post food and exercise info.

Okay- worked out at the gym. 45 mins on the treadmill. 300 cals. 15 mins on the elliptical. 200 cals. Today I worked out abs. Did the ab twist machine. 10 lbs with 50 on each side. Ab crunch machine. 30 pounds 100 crunches. Ab roller machine. 10 lbs 100 crunches.

For breakfast- cereal with milk- 200 cals.
Coffee. 30 cals.
Skipped lunch. Bad I know but I slept late.
Dinner. Homemade lowfat tacos. 496 calories.
Coffee. 30 cals.
Yogurt. 80 cals.
Cashews. 180 cals.
Cranberry Juice. 70 Cals.

Total for the day: 1086. A little under because of skipping lunch...

Today I am off from the gym.

So far I have eaten for breakfast oatmeal with milk. 234 cals. And coffee. 30 cals.
I woke up at 12 so no lunch. I just started off with breakfast.
Dinner was leftovers- Tacos. 50 cals less because I gave up one tortilla and had a lettuce wrap instead. 446.
Then started cravings sweets and chocolate. 173 cals.
Coffee. 30 cals.

The best way to loose weight safely is to just cut out fatty foods, and things you dont REALLY need such a crisps, chocolates etc.
I lost 5 lbs in one week eating cerial for breakfast with semi or skimmed milk…cerial such a weetabix (as this helps digestion) with fruit such a grapes (not bananna as this is hig in carbs)…for lunch, brown break with sliced white meat or ham woth plenty of salad and water to drink with some fruit.
then for dinner, steamed fish/chicked with salad or veg..try and cut out big amounts of potato, but if you do have potatio have a jacket spud.
no sauces such as mayonnaise etc…
drink plenty of water..and dont snack of crips & choccie….snack on fruit, rice crackers or low fat yoghurt. that was 5 lbs on one week, without excersie! imagine how much more i could have lost in that week with some gentle excersice!!!!!
